About this opportunity

At Bristol Myers Squibb, our employees often ask, “Who are you working for?”, a question that fuels collaboration, accountability, and urgency in our work. Our purpose-driven culture inspires us to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines to prevail over serious diseases. We offer uniquely interesting and meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits. This is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it.

Summary:

Bristol Myers Squibb is building a leading Neuroscience franchise focused on addressing areas of significant unmet need across serious neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Director, HCP Marketing, Medical Education, & KOL Strategy, Alzheimer's Disease Psychosis (ADP) will be responsible for developing and executing the U.S. KOL engagement strategy, medical education programming, peer-to-peer promotional activities, and congress commercial strategy for the anticipated launch of ADP, a potential first-in-class, first-approved treatment for AD psychosis and BMS's inaugural commercial entry into Alzheimer's disease.

This role is responsible for how BMS's pre- and post-launch disease and product education reaches external stakeholders: through the right thought leaders, at the right scientific forums, and via professionally executed promotional and educational programs that drive meaningful shifts in HCP understanding and behavior. The Director will build and manage the relationships, programs, and systems that allow BMS to show up credibly, compliantly, and consistently at the intersection of commercial education and medical influence across a complex, multi-specialty ADP HCP landscape.

In partnership with Medical and the Regional Marketing Team, this role will be critical in identifying and activating KOLs, owning the annual congress strategy and execution, developing and managing peer-to-peer and speaker bureau programs, and building the operational infrastructure for KOL engagement across psychiatry, neurology, geriatrics, geriatric psychiatry, primary care, and LTC settings.

The Director must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization, with high expectations and accountability on quality of deliverables, and bring a bias for action, strong execution discipline, and a compliance-first mindset to all programs. The ability to establish strong partnerships with Medical Affairs (particularly MSLs and Home Office Medical), Commercial colleagues, Congress Management team, and external agencies is essential.

This role will support the investigational indication (Alzheimer's Disease Psychosis – ADP), which is currently under development and has not yet been approved by the FDA.

Responsibilities:

KOL Engagement Strategy & Execution

Develop and own the annual U.S. KOL engagement plan for ADP, including identification and tiered prioritization of thought leaders across the multi-specialty HCP landscape (psychiatrists, neurologists, geriatricians, geriatric psychiatrists, PCPs, NPs/PAs, and LTC medical directors)

Build and manage trusted, long-term relationships with priority KOLs and emerging thought leaders, positioning BMS as a credible, science-forward partner in a new disease area for the company

Partner closely with Medical Affairs (MSL team and Medical Directors) to ensure commercial and medical KOL engagement is coordinated, clearly delineated, compliant, and mutually reinforcing, maximizing the collective impact of BMS's external scientific engagement

Plan and execute commercial KOL programs, including advisory boards, promotional speaker development, and peer-to-peer educational events, ensuring timely insight capture and actionable readouts that inform brand strategy and planning

Develop and maintain a KOL governance model, including goal-setting, tracking, and performance evaluation for KOL engagement activities

Congress Planning & Execution

Own the end-to-end U.S. commercial congress strategy and execution for ADP, across pre-launch and post-launch timeframes and across priority medical congresses in neurology, psychiatry, geriatrics, LTC, and related fields (e.g., ADPD, IPA, AAIC, GAPNA, ASCP, GSA, ADCD, CTAD)

Define and execute BMS's commercial presence, messaging objectives, booth strategy, and HCP engagement activations at priority congresses, aligned to brand market shaping goals and the evolving ADP scientific platform

Partner with Medical Affairs colleagues on symposia, CME programming, and scientific presentations to ensure commercial and medical objectives are integrated and mutually reinforcing at key congresses

Manage all congress-related commercial logistics, vendor relationships, and activities on time, on budget, and in full compliance with BMS policies and applicable regulatory requirements

Capture and synthesize insights from congress interactions and feed them back systematically into brand strategy and planning cycles

Medical Education & Professional Promotion

Develop and manage the professional promotional medical education strategy for ADP, including peer-to-peer programs, speaker bureau development and management, and HCP-facing educational content

Oversee the development, review, and deployment of promotional and educational materials for KOL engagement, speaker programs, and congress activations, ensuring scientific accuracy, message consistency, and full compliance with promotional review requirements

Ensure that medical education programming is directly tied to the brand's strategic imperatives

Identify opportunities to leverage medical education platforms (e.g., symposia, speaker programs, digital CME) as vehicles for HCP behavioral change aligned to the brand's pre-launch objectives

Manage agency and vendor relationships for medical education execution, including budget oversight, scope management, and performance accountability

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operational Excellence

Collaborate effectively with Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Legal/Regulatory/Compliance to ensure KOL and Med Ed programs are fully aligned and executed with excellence

Contribute to brand planning processes by providing insights from KOL interactions, congress activity, and medical education programming

Establish a working cadence with cross-functional partners to drive execution, manage program dependencies, and integrate field insights into brand strategy and optimization

Own program budgets and forecasting for KOL engagement, congress, and medical education workstreams, ensuring on-time delivery, financial accountability, and execution in full compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements

Build a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team environment consistent with BMS Values

Qualifications:

BA/BS required; life sciences degree or equivalent desirable; MBA or graduate degree preferred

Minimum 8 years of progressive pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical commercial experience, including demonstrated experience in professional promotion, KOL engagement, medical education, and/or congress strategy preferred

Proven track record of developing and executing KOL engagement plans, speaker bureau programs, peer-to-peer educational initiatives, and congress strategy in a specialty pharmaceutical or complex disease area context preferred

Experience leading or co-leading thought leader programs including advisory boards, speaker training, and HCP engagement forums; demonstrated ability to build meaningful, trusted external relationships with KOLs and influencers preferred

Success with launching a brand or major indications preferred

Demonstrated success in the evaluation of launch barriers and accelerators; and implementation of new initiatives, plan modifications and capturing new opportunities.

Functional experience within neuroscience, psychiatry, geriatrics, or Alzheimer's disease strongly preferred

Strong understanding of the promotional review process, and the legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements governing HCP engagement, speaker programs, congress activities, and pre-approval market shaping activities

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple programs and workstreams simultaneously with a high standard of executional quality

Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels, embrace teamwork within a cross-functional environment, and lead and influence without direct authority

Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, meet financial targets, and ensure accountability across program spend

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, including the ability to present effectively to senior leadership, KOLs, and field-based teams

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
