Job Description

If you feel like you’re part of something bigger, it’s because you are. At Amgen, our shared mission, to serve patients, drives all that we do. We are global collaborators who achieve together, researching, manufacturing and delivering medicines that reach millions of patients worldwide. It’s time for a career you can be proud of.

Site Supply Chain Planner

As a Site Supply Chain Planner, you will be at the heart of our day-to-day operations, translating supply requirements into a stable, realistic and executable production schedule.

This is a hands-on planning role for someone who enjoys working close to operations. You will continuously balance production capacity, material availability, priorities and market demand, partnering with Production, QA, Warehouse and regional Supply Chain teams to keep supply moving.

If you enjoy detailed scheduling, solving operational planning challenges and improving the way planning is done, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Live

What you will do

Your main responsibility will be to own and maintain the short-term detailed production schedule, ensuring that plans are feasible and aligned with available materials and capacity.

You will:

Build, maintain and optimize the detailed production schedule for your assigned production lines.

Own the frozen/firm planning window and ensure production orders are ready for execution.

Assess short- and mid-term capacity and identify potential constraints before they impact supply.

Check component and material availability and coordinate actions when shortages or constraints arise.

Work closely with Production, QA, Warehouse and regional Supply Chain teams to align priorities and safeguard market supply.

React quickly to deviations, flow stoppers and changing operational priorities, translating them into clear planning actions.

Facilitate daily SQDIP discussions and weekly capacity meetings, providing visibility on risks, priorities and required actions.

Support product launches and other operational initiatives with planning expertise.

Monitor planning and supply KPIs, identify trends and recommend actions to improve performance.

Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization and automation of planning processes.

Ultimately, you will be the person who connects the plan with operational reality, making sure that what we intend to produce can actually be executed.

Win

What we expect of you

We are looking for someone with a genuine planning mindset.

Essential for success in this role:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.

Relevant experience in production planning, detailed scheduling, supply planning or a comparable operational supply chain role.

Hands-on experience working with SAP or another ERP/planning system.

Strong analytical skills and confidence working with planning and operational data.

The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and structure.

Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across different functions.

Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Experience working in a complex, international environment.

Pharmaceutical, biotechnology or another GMP/regulatory-controlled environment.

Capacity planning and inventory management.

Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet or similar analytical tools.

Lean, Six Sigma, RCA, FMEA or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Process automation or digitalization of supply chain activities.

AI-assisted tools and an interest in using GenAI to improve planning processes.

Project management or product launch support.

What will make you successful

Enjoy detailed scheduling and operational planning, rather than working only at a strategic or high-level planning level.

Take ownership and follow issues through to resolution.

Stay calm and structured when priorities change.

Can see both the detail and the broader supply impact of planning decisions.

Communicate clearly and build effective relationships with operational stakeholders.

Look continuously for smarter, simpler and more automated ways of working.

Bring curiosity, initiative and a strong continuous-improvement mindset.

Contract

This position is offered initially as a 1-year fixed-term contract , with the intention and possibility to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

Thrive

What you can expect from us

An international and inclusive environment where different perspectives and ideas are valued.

A competitive Total Rewards package including salary, bonus, 13th month, holiday allowance and collective health insurance.

A strong focus on well-being, including an on-site gym, vitality programs and healthy restaurant options.

The opportunity to work in a supply chain environment where your planning decisions have a direct impact on getting medicines to patients.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
