Job Description:
Summary
The Senior Director Oncology Business Unit External Engagement (TLLs, CNEs and Strategic Partnerships) is a key leadership role within the Oncology Commercial team. The position will report to the Senior Vice President & Franchise Head, Oncology Business Unit and will be a critical member of the Oncology Business Unit leadership team. The role will lead the Thought Leader Liaison team, the Clinical Nurse Educator Team and the Director of Strategic Partnerships.
Effective customer engagement, robust clinical acumen, leading and working through others, obsessive customer centricity, a proven track record of driving performance and results, the ability to set a vision and establish clear goals and the ability to effectively coach, lead and manage performance will be critical in this role. Leadership skills and a proven track record of building and executing commercial plans in collaboration with multiple cross-functional partners will be critical in this role. The ability to work closely with each of the US Oncology Marketing Teams to align on short-term and long-term commercial strategies will be important for success. This role will also work cross functionally to help bring programs and resources to fruition in support of the Oncology BU.
Main Responsibilities & Job Expectations
Develop and execute the long-term external engagement strategy aligned with Oncology Business Unit growth objectives and launch priorities.
Serve as a strategic advisor to the SVP & Franchise Head and OBU Leadership Team on customer engagement, stakeholder trends, and market dynamics.
Influence oncology franchise strategy by providing insights from national thought leaders, key accounts, advocacy organizations, and healthcare systems.
Anticipate market, policy, reimbursement, and treatment landscape changes and proactively adapt engagement strategies.
Drive sustainable business growth and organizational performance through strategic leadership, data-driven decision making, and execution excellence.
Lead customer engagement strategy and field execution for new product launches, indications, and lifecycle management initiatives.
Drive organizational readiness and capability development to support future portfolio expansion.
Establishing an effective team and a high-performance culture for OBU TLL, CNE and Strategic Partnerships organization
Setting clear business objectives and vision for the organization
Leveraging data and analytics to drive results and optimize performance
Supporting an effective key account management process
Support the optimization of BU training and development
Supporting the upskilling of the organization through various training and learning opportunities
Attract and retain top talent; effectively manage performance
Drive a culture of transparency, candor and accountability
Knowledge, Abilities & Education
Minimum 15+ years of progressive pharmaceutical/biotech commercial leadership experience.
Demonstrated experience leading leaders and managing geographically dispersed teams.
Proven success leading oncology product launches and commercialization strategies.
Experience in both solid tumors & hematology preferred
Prior experience in products and launches with extensive market shaping activities
Experience influencing executive-level business decisions in a matrixed organization.
Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and transformation.
Strong strategic planning and business acumen with experience translating strategy into execution.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence others.
Ability to work with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to positively connect across multiple stakeholders, including experience of working with senior leaders across the US and in multiple time zones.
Effective profit and loss (P&L) management experience.
Excellent analytical, skills and understanding of business analytics tools.
A track record of successful projects delivery and positive performance results.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to interface with both internal and external stakeholders, cross-functional partners, alliance partners, and senior management.
Working within an environment of strict compliance to all appropriate regulatory guidelines to successfully design and execute tactics, programs and tools that achieve business objectives.
Willingness/ability to travel domestically. International travel may be required
Key Technical Competencies Required
Demonstrated team leadership experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence others
Excellent written and verbal skills and strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong scientific/medical aptitude and experience
Knowledge of the AMA, ACCME, PhRMA and FDA regulations associated with promotion and industry-supported scientific education activities.
Working within an environment of strict compliance to all appropriate regulatory guidelines to successfully design and execute tactics, programs and tools that achieve business objectives.
Willingness/ability to travel domestically. International travel may be required
The annual base salary range for this position is $235,000-$340,000.
This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program.

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
