Quality Health Safety Environmental Intern

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work alongside skilled HSE professionals to enhance workplace safety, develop environmental practices, and ensure regulatory compliance;
Participate in risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend improvements;
Conduct regulatory research and keep compliance initiatives aligned with relevant legislation and best practices;
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to promote safety awareness and environmental responsibility across the site;
Assist in preparing HSE documentation, reports, presentations, and compliance records;
Support the implementation of Operational Excellence and site-wide safety improvement initiatives, including standards compliance and day-to-day HSE activities.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and completed at least your sophomore year with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0;
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Able to commute daily to our Kansas City, MO site and available for the internship period (May 17 – August 6, 2027);
Willing and able to climb stairs and ladders and comfortable working in a dynamic chemical plant environment.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $24.00 to $45.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
