Quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) make sure manufacturing and lab processes meet regulatory GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. QC tests product samples and generates the underlying data; QA reviews and approves the batch records, deviations, and processes against that data before product is released.
Common titles include Quality Assurance Associate, QA Specialist, QC Analyst, Quality Manager, and Director of Quality. Hiring comes from pharma and biotech manufacturing sites, CDMOs, and testing labs.
Entry-level QA/QC associate roles typically require a life-sciences degree (chemistry, biology, or pharmacy); manager and director-level roles require several years of GMP compliance experience.
