The Position
Lead the translation and execution of the ROPU Inflammation Therapeutic Area(TA)/brand strategy in line with the global Inflammation TA strategy and within the framework of Integrated Asset Planning to achieve growth and profitability targets in the region.
Drive brand performance with a strong focus on driving sales growth and market share gain of assigned brands. Work closely with the ROPU and OPU brand teams to ensure high quality operational plans are prepared and implemented through cross-business/function collaboration to maximize customer engagement and execution excellence. Ensure timely launches through effective steering of (R)OPU launch readiness strategy and preparations.
Provide ASKAN inputs into the development of TA/global and OPU Inflammation brand strategies. Lead, manage and develop the (R)OPU brand leads in the TA.
Tasks & Responsibilities
STRATEGY:
Translate the global Inflammation TA strategy into a ROPU context
Development and execution of the ROPU Inflammation brand and TA strategy within the framework of Integrated Asset/Integrated Customer Planning
Influence the development of Inflammation TA/global brand strategies by providing ASKAN inputs in relation to market, competitor and customer insights
DRIVING BUSINESS RESULTS:
INPUT TO BUSINESS PLANNING CYCLE(OUTLOOK AND LONG TERM FORECAST(LTF)PROCESS)
Contribute to the LTF/Outlook preparation by providing sales and investment planning for the defined brand/TA
Develop LTF proposals for Sales, Direct Promotion and Field Force FTEs
BUSINESS PERFORMANCE
Drive the Inflammation TA/Brand performance in line with the ROPU objectives
Ensure achievement of ROPU sales, market share and profit/profitability objectives
INTEGRATED CUSTOMER PLAN(ICP) DEVELOPMENT
HPLC Approved Brand ICPs and Portfolio Plans
Dedicated resources
Approved OPU tactical plans
TACTICAL PLAN EXECUTION/IN-MARKET IMPLEMENTATION DRIVE
Quality of execution
Regular analysis and pro-active contingency planning
Budget tracking and scenario planning
LAUNCH READINESS
Lead and ensure effective steering of launch readiness planning for (R)OPU. Timely execution of LRR meetings and actions.
Review meetings and ensure appropriate tracking for launch decision
Ensure development and execution of launch readiness and pre-launch KPIs
Provide timely status updates, including clarity on next steps and planned actions in Launch SteerCo Meetings
Effective cross-functional engagement and teamwork
CROSS FUNCTIONAL ALIGNMENT IN BRAND TEAM AND TA INTERACTION WITH OPU AND EMERGING MARKETS/GLOBAL MARKETING
Regular OPU and Emerging Markets/Global Interactions via Webex and F2F meetings
Management reporting processes
Feedback from ROPU and OPU HPLC on the cross functional working & key parameters of judgment, drive and influence across the ROPU on brands
PROCESS/CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION:(CONT'D)
MONITORING AND REPORTING
Manage allocated Inflammation TA DP budget in accordance with plan
In collaboration with Commercial Operations, deliver monthly performance update and KPI reporting, with close monitoring of OPU/ROPU market shares, strategic account management parameters, immediately highlighting potential issues to HPLC and proposing solutions and counter measures
Communicate regularly key summaries/updates to HPLC in a clear and precise way to facilitate information sharing, consultation and efficient decision making,
e.g. product knowledge, market/customer/competitor insights, M/S trends vs.other areas/markets
In collaboration with Commercial Operations, define the market research requirements to develop market, customer and competitor insights
SUPPORT TO GTM TRANSFORMATION
Support/drive GTM transformation and adoption of Platforms and Process to enable excellent customer centric engagement
PEOPLE:
PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT AND TALENT MANAGEMENT PROCESS
Develop expertise, know-how and competency of direct reports through ongoing feedback, coaching and development opportunities
Provide clarity on the goals and objectives to be achieved by the team
Oversee and drive overall performance management and talent management of the team at ROPU and OPU level
Leadership / Supervision:
Ensure implementation and compliance to the Performance Management / Talent Management / Compensation Planning / BI People timelines for the year
Ensure that there are development plans for direct reports and that they are being implemented on the agreed timelines
Ensure that talents are properly identified and that they are discussed in the cross validation and succession plans
Ensure that proper coaching is provided during the MAG discussions (midyear, yearend, or whenever the need arises).
Ensure the adequate staffing of the team and the development and movement of talents are properly implemented
Requirements
Bachelors / Masters degree (e.g. MBA, MSc); Major in Business Administration, Pharmaceutics
Solid experience in pharmaceutical marketing at a managerial level (Minimum 8-10 years marketing and sales experience; Minimum 4-6 years leadership experience)
A prior track record of success
