About this opportunity

Your impact begins here

As Global Associate Commercial Competitive Intelligence Director, you will help shape the strategies behind Novo’s projects and future commercial brands in diabetes, obesity, Liver and Cardiovascular disease. You will monitor the commercial competitive landscape, competitor strategies and turn what you find into data-driven insights that sharpen decisions at project, product and portfolio level. By elevating and challenging our approach, you will help Novo stay ahead – and strengthen the commercial strategies that bring treatments to people living with diabetes, obesity, Liver and Cardiovascular disease.

What you’ll bring

You think independently, set the agenda before you are asked and bring people together across functions to influence decisions. You are comfortable in an expert role and confident managing stakeholders at every level. We are open to candidates at different career stages, so the depth of experience we look for will vary with your background:

An M.Sc. in Business, Medicine or Life/Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Relevant experience in similar roles.

Experience within the pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable intelligence.

The ability – or a proven track record – to communicate scientific, medical and commercial information clearly to diverse audiences, including senior management.

An understanding of drug development, commercial strategy and pharmaceutical value chains, with depth matching your seniority.

Useful, but not essential:

Experience in social media monitoring.

What you’ll do

You will provide high-quality monitoring and insight generation on the commercial competitive landscape and competitor strategies, helping commercial teams act on what is happening in the market today.

Deliver high-quality, data-driven insights on the commercial competitive landscape across diabetes, obesity, Liver and Cardiovascular disease.

Drive strong commercial competitive insights that improve decision-making at project, product and portfolio level.

Lead assessments of key intelligence topics of strategic interest, working with cross-functional stakeholders.

Act as a strategic partner to Commercial teams, making sure real-time insights are translated into competitive counter-strategies.

Contribute to building and developing the Commercial Competitive Intelligence function.

Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organisation.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the Commercial Competitive Intelligence team, which monitors, assesses and activates commercial competitive intelligence within core strategic areas in diabetes, obesity, Liver and CVD. The team is part of Strategic Insights, where you will work alongside colleagues in Customer & Consumer Insights and in Data, Analytics & AI Strategy.

Strategic Insights sits within Product & Portfolio Strategy, which drives commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. The area acts as a connector and compass – guiding the portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream and maximising its potential through strong commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.

Your closest partners will be Commercial teams, and you will engage with stakeholders across the value chain. Bringing these perspectives together – and creating clarity on what competitor moves mean for Novo – is how your insights will turn into action.

What you can expect here

You will take on an expert role with real influence: your insights will feed directly into decisions on projects, products and the wider portfolio. You will be trusted to set the agenda, make your voice heard and challenge established thinking when the evidence calls for it.

You will also help develop the Commercial Competitive Intelligence function itself, giving you the chance to shape how the work is done, not just deliver it. Working across commercial, medical and data-focused colleagues, you will broaden your perspective and build new skills on the job. Because we are open to different career stages, your responsibilities and salary will be tailored to your experience.

At Novo Nordisk, you’ll join a global healthcare company with a unique culture and strong results. We offer continuous learning, career development, and benefits tailored to your life and career stage.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000.00 to 1,245,100.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
