Job Description

The Director will set strategy and lead the evolution of the Access Therapy Center, J&J Innovative Medicine’s noncommercial pharmacy capability, to deliver personalized, seamless and supportive experiences for patients and health care providers. The Director will identify, design, prioritize, and implement new pharmacy capabilities in partnership with ATC Operations and cross-functional collaborators.

This role is accountable for the ATC innovation portfolio, capability roadmap, strategic governance, investment planning, and cross-functional implementation of programs, technology and partnerships. The Director will lead a team responsible for capability design and implementation, strategic projects, fulfillment innovation, governance, and integration of pharmacy solutions across therapeutic areas and patient-support programs.

The Director will work in close partnership with ATC Operations, which retains accountability for day-to-day pharmacy execution, workforce deployment, dispensing operations, service delivery, and routine operational performance.

The Director will report to the Senior Director, ATC Pharmacy Operations.

Key Responsibilities

ATC innovation strategy and capability roadmap: Set the long-term vision, roadmap and priorities for ATC innovation and implementation. Translate patient, provider, operational and market insights into scalable capabilities and sequenced investments.

Capability implementation and launch readiness: Lead the design and implementation of ATC capabilities required to support new therapeutic areas, products, indications, and patient-support programs. Partner with ATC Operations and cross-functional teams to establish requirements, assess readiness, manage implementation, support stabilization, and transition capabilities into sustained operations.

Portfolio investment and demand planning: Coordinate budget planning, demand forecasts, and capability investment needs across the ATC portfolio. Translate projected volumes and program requirements into technology, facility, fulfillment, partner, and implementation considerations in collaboration with Finance and ATC Operations.

Pharmacy capability innovation: Advance a portfolio that may include digital engagement, electronic benefit verification, pharmacy-system integrations, APIs, automation, AI-enabled workflows, and patient and provider communications.

Technology and data governance: Serve as a senior business leader for pharmacy technology modernization and integration. Establish clear business requirements, decision rights, risk escalation, success measures and governance in partnership with J&J Technology, data, privacy, information security, quality and compliance teams.

Fulfillment and access capability innovation: Lead the design and advancement of fulfillment and pharmacy-partner capabilities. Identify opportunities to improve patient assistance, trial and access programs, cold-chain solutions, pack-out models, inventory visibility, shipment processes, and continuity capabilities in partnership with operational owners.

Capability performance and optimization: Establish success measures for new capabilities and implementations. Use patient feedback, operational data, analytics, and external benchmarks to evaluate impact, identify gaps, and prioritize post-launch enhancements with operational and functional partners.

Cross-functional integration: Represent ATC pharmacy considerations across PECS and broader enterprise workstreams. Build alignment across therapeutic-area, patient-experience, patient and customer care, financial assistance, pharmacy solutions, supply chain, medical and enabling-function partners.

Performance and continuous improvement: Define measurable outcomes and use data, analytics, patient feedback, operational performance and external benchmarks to identify friction, prioritize improvements and demonstrate impact.

People and leadership culture: Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team. Build succession, develop stretch opportunities, support PharmD fellowship and learning programs, and foster an inclusive culture of accountability, experimentation, prudent risk-taking and continuous learning.

Compliance and patient-centered execution: Model Credo-based leadership and ensure initiatives are crafted and implemented in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, quality, privacy, security and health care compliance requirements, while protecting pharmacist professional judgment and patient welfare.

About You

You are a patient-centered, enterprise-minded leader who can move from strategy to execution. How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
