Job Title: AI Solution Lead
Department: Enterprise IT and Quality
Location: Ballerup, Denmark
Your impact begins here
As AI Solution Lead in Quality AI, you will turn opportunities for AI into working applications and agents for complex, regulated pharmaceutical quality processes. You will own initiatives from problem definition through to adoption, combining hands-on development with technical and stakeholder leadership. You will also help shape how AI can be shown to be fit for its intended use. Your work helps quality teams act faster, with evidence they can trust.
What you’ll bring
A Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field.
Experience leading AI/ML initiatives or working on AI products, with direct responsibility for delivering working solutions – for example as a founder, engineer, researcher or technical consultant.
Practical experience building with LLMs, assessing architecture, investigating technical problems and working directly with code.
Experience structuring business problems, connecting business needs to technical choices and explaining trade-offs to different audiences.
The ability to build confidence with business leaders, challenge assumptions, negotiate priorities and turn discussions into decisions.
Ownership and initiative when responsibilities or requirements are unclear, and comfort making decisions with incomplete information.
Clear communication and the curiosity to learn pharmaceutical quality requirements – and the judgement to question how they are implemented.
Useful, but not essential:
Experience working in regulated environments.
What you’ll do
You will lead assigned AI initiatives in Quality AI, from the first conversation with process owners to the point where users rely on what you have built.
Work with process owners and users to identify opportunities, define what success looks like and prioritise what to build.
Lead delivery across engineers, quality experts, business stakeholders and IT – resolving dependencies and securing the decisions needed to keep moving.
Shape solution architecture and guide choices about models, data, integrations and evaluation.
Prototype, code and troubleshoot when your direct involvement helps delivery.
Establish evaluations and acceptance criteria, and use the evidence to guide development and deployment decisions.
Take initiatives through implementation and adoption, tracking delivery against the agreed business outcomes, and build reusable components, tools and practices that help later initiatives move faster.
Who you’ll work with
You will join the Quality AI team in Enterprise IT & Quality, where colleagues work across the Novo value chain, stay close to stakeholders and help deliver trusted technology and high quality. You will work with a high degree of independence and may guide the work of less experienced colleagues, keeping delivery on track against timelines, quality standards and strategic objectives.
Your closest partners will be pharmaceutical quality process owners and users, engineers, quality experts, IT teams, and business leaders and senior stakeholders. Together you will agree priorities, settle trade-offs and make decisions across functions, so good ideas move from discussion to working applications without losing pace. The role is based in Ballerup, Denmark.
What you can expect here
You will have room to lead. You will be trusted to make decisions on AI/ML approaches, data products and architecture, and to challenge established ways of working when a simpler, faster route meets quality and compliance requirements. Clear expectations and honest, open dialogue with colleagues help you deliver your best work.
You will also grow your expertise: building AI for a regulated environment, learning pharmaceutical quality requirements from the experts who work with them every day, and helping define approaches that other initiatives will build on.

How we calculate "similar"
No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.
Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.
0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
