About this opportunity

Finance Partner

CMC Finance

Bagsværd, Denmark, Onsite

Bring financial clarity and discipline to a complex CMC environment by driving budgeting, rolling estimates, monthly reporting, and financial follow-up for a defined business area or development project portfolio.

Your new role

As a Finance Partner, you will take responsibility for recurring financial planning, reporting, controlling, and performance follow-up within a defined area of CMC Development.

A significant part of the role will be managing the annual budget process, rolling estimates, and monthly reporting. You will collect and validate financial input, consolidate data, monitor actuals against budget and forecast, explain deviations, and provide clear financial insights to management.

You will work closely with a VP area, department managers, budget owners, project stakeholders, and finance colleagues. The role is not limited to producing reports. You will also be expected to challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and translate financial information into relevant recommendations.

Depending on the final distribution of responsibilities within the team, your scope may cover either a Line of Business area or a development project portfolio. In both cases, you will work independently within established finance processes and involve your manager or more experienced colleagues when broader alignment or particularly complex issues are required.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Managing Anchor Budget, rolling estimates, and other recurring financial planning activities for your assigned area

Collecting, validating, and consolidating budget and forecast input from departments, budget owners, or project stakeholders

Preparing monthly management reporting and explaining performance against budget and forecast

Identifying financial deviations, risks, and opportunities and recommending relevant follow-up actions

Supporting and constructively challenging a VP, department managers, and other budget-responsible stakeholders

Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, controlling, and follow-up

Providing financial input to business cases, project decisions, and ad hoc analyses

Contributing to improvements in local reporting, templates, and finance processes

Your new department

In Global Manufacturing & Supply, we cover the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. We are more than 30,000 colleagues worldwide, dedicated to supplying life-changing medicines to the patients who depend on them.

Within Global Manufacturing & Supply, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development develops, manufactures, and supplies drug candidates for clinical trials. The area operates in a complex and project-driven environment where reliable financial planning, cost transparency, and strong follow-up are essential.

You will join the CMC Finance team in Bagsværd. The team supports financial planning and performance management across CMC Development and works closely with leaders, project teams, budget owners, and finance colleagues across the organisation.

You will become part of a professional and collaborative team with high standards and a strong focus on delivery. The role requires you to manage recurring finance processes reliably while responding to changing priorities, ad hoc requests, and evolving business needs.

This is an onsite role based in Bagsværd, and you should be comfortable working primarily from the office due to the close interaction with stakeholders and finance colleagues.

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you:

Hold a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or another relevant discipline

Have 2 or 3 years of relevant experience within financial planning and analysis, controlling, finance partnering, or a comparable finance role

Have hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, rolling estimates, management reporting, and performance follow-up

Can analyse financial data and explain deviations, risks, opportunities, and key performance drivers

Have experience working with managers, budget owners, project teams, or other business stakeholders

Can challenge financial assumptions constructively and communicate clear recommendations

Are comfortable working independently within a defined area of responsibility while involving others when broader alignment is needed

Communicate clearly and can present financial topics in a concise and credible way

Experience with development projects, project portfolios, project budgets, R&D finance, or work in a large and complex organisation will be considered an advantage, but it is not a requirement.

As a person, you are analytical, structured, and accountable. You take ownership of your deliverables and follow through on agreed actions. You are comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions, and raising financial concerns when needed.

You can navigate changing priorities and incomplete information without losing focus on accuracy, deadlines, and financial discipline. You work well with stakeholders at different organisational levels and bring a constructive and pragmatic approach to collaboration.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
