Senior Manager, Neurology Medical Marketing - Insights & Congress Strategy

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will lead U.S. Neurology external insight generation and the broader congress activation strategy across gMG and NMOSD.

Reporting to the Neuro Medical Marketing Lead, this individual will ensure customer, scientific, field, and congress learnings are translated into clear strategic implications that shape franchise strategy, indication planning, customer engagement, content, and investment decisions.

This role has end-to-end accountability for advisory board strategy and execution, a structured field-insight model with the Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) team, insight synthesis and communication, and the strategic activation of the congress portfolio. Within the Neuro Medical Marketing Lead's integrated U.S. congress strategy, the Senior Manager owns sponsorship strategy, activation planning, and cross-functional pull-through while leading and developing the team members responsible for assigned workstreams. Professional Marketing retains ownership of booth-related and sales-driven assets, including development and deployment of Tier 3 local conference kits.

Key Responsibilities

Lead External Insight Strategy and Advisory Boards

Set and evolve the U.S. Neurology external insight strategy across gMG and NMOSD, defining priority business questions and an integrated plan to generate actionable learning throughout the year.

Own the end-to-end strategy and execution of Neurology advisory boards, including objective development, advisor strategy, content and stimulus development, agency and vendor management, meeting execution, insight synthesis, and action planning.

Ensure advisory board insights are rapidly synthesized and translated into clear recommendations that inform franchise strategy, indication plans, customer engagement, content, and investment decisions.

Partner with Analytics & Insights, Medical Affairs, Global, and other functions to integrate advisory board learning with market research, competitive intelligence, scientific developments, and other relevant sources of insight.

Lead Field Insights with the TLL Team

Establish and lead a structured field-insight model with the TLL team, including clear learning priorities, collection mechanisms, synthesis processes, and feedback loops to ensure field observations inform business decisions.

Partner with TLL leadership to identify emerging customer needs, OL dynamics, scientific developments, competitive activity, and account-level themes across the evolving Neurology treatment landscape.

Translate field intelligence into focused, decision-ready insights and recommendations for Medical Marketing, HCP Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, and franchise leadership.

Build processes and tools that improve the quality, consistency, visibility, and strategic value of insights collected from the field.

Lead Congress Strategy, Sponsorships, and Activation

Within the Neuro Medical Marketing Lead's integrated U.S. congress strategy, lead the annual congress activation plan across gMG and NMOSD, including business objectives, priority meetings, customer and insight goals, investment recommendations, activation requirements, and success measures.

Own congress sponsorship strategy and selection, including opportunity evaluation, investment recommendations, contracting coordination, activation requirements, vendor management, and post-event assessment.

Lead the broader cross-functional congress activation strategy and execution plan, integrating insights, OL engagement, scientific priorities, promotional opportunities, field priorities, competitive intelligence, and post-congress follow-through.

Establish clear accountability, timelines, and decision rights across Medical Marketing's congress workstreams. Partner with the Opinion Leader Engagement & P2P lead, who owns all marketing-led OL-facing engagement at congresses, to integrate those programs into the activation plan.

Lead strategic prioritization and activation requirements for Tier 3 local meetings. Partner with Professional Marketing, which owns development and deployment of sales-driven local conference kits, to ensure those kits and booth-related assets are aligned with overall congress objectives.

Ensure congress insights and competitive learnings are rapidly synthesized, communicated, and translated into implications and actions for gMG and NMOSD.

Lead Cross-Functional Strategy and Investment

Contribute to annual brand planning, long-range planning, quarterly priorities, and tactical plans by bringing forward customer, scientific, field, and congress implications.

Manage insights and congress budgets, agencies, and external vendors with strong financial stewardship, rigorous prioritization, and accountability for timely, high-quality delivery.

Represent Insights and Congress Strategy Medical Marketing in key franchise forums and communicate emerging risks, opportunities, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Identify opportunities to modernize insight generation, field intelligence, congress planning, activation measurement, and knowledge sharing through new capabilities, technologies, analytics, and AI.

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team

Directly lead, coach, and develop team members responsible for insights, advisory boards, congress activation, and related Medical Marketing workstreams; establish clear priorities, decision rights, accountability, and development plans.

Create an operating model that balances strategic leadership with disciplined execution, enabling the team to manage complex workstreams while maintaining a strong customer and business focus.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
