The Opportunity

Neuroscience is one of Lilly’s most enduring scientific commitments, and Alzheimer’s disease is among the fastest-moving fields in medicine, moving from symptomatic management toward biologically confirmed diagnosis, earlier detection, and intervention in the early symptomatic stages of disease. As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will be a credible, field-based scientific partner: translating complex evidence into clinical practice, building trust-based relationships with healthcare experts, and generating the insights that shape Lilly’s medical strategy in México, in a therapeutic area where the diagnostic pathway itself must be strengthened alongside the science.

What You Will Do

Scientific Knowledge & Communication

Maintain expert command of the evidence across Alzheimer’s disease and the wider neurodegeneration landscape, amyloid and tau biology, fluid and imaging biomarkers, cognitive and functional endpoints, and Lilly’s current and pipeline neuroscience assets, engaging on investigational assets only in a reactive, compliant manner.

Translate clinical trial data, real-world evidence, HEOR outputs, and updates to diagnostic criteria and clinical guidance (NIA-AA, IWG, AAN, Alzheimer’s Association appropriate-use recommendations, Academia Mexicana de Neurología) into clear, balanced, guideline-aligned scientific narratives.

Discuss safety and monitoring considerations for this class of therapies, including imaging surveillance requirements and patient risk-stratification, with the balance and rigor the topic demands.

Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries with rigorous, non-promotional, evidence-based information.

Customer Engagement & Scientific Exchange

Map, prioritize, and build trust-based partnerships with scientific and clinical experts across neurology, cognitive and behavioral neurology, geriatrics, psychiatry, neuroradiology and nuclear medicine, neuropsychology, internal medicine, and primary care, recognizing that Alzheimer’s care depends on a diagnostic and treatment chain rather than on a single prescriber.

Engage the wider care team whose readiness determines whether evidence reaches patients, neuropsychology, imaging and infusion services, nursing, laboratory, and hospital administration colleagues.

Deliver high-impact scientific presentations to HCPs and multidisciplinary care teams, and provide scientific support at national and international congresses.

Engage private and public stakeholders (IMSS, ISSSTE, CCINSHAE, including INNN and INGER, COFEPRIS, CENETEC, CSG, SEDENA, SEMAR, PEMEX) in compliant, non-promotional scientific exchange that supports access decisions grounded in evidence.

Diagnostic Pathway & Health-System Readiness

Characterize the local diagnostic pathway end to end, cognitive screening, specialist referral, biomarker confirmation, imaging access and reporting capacity, and treatment-monitoring infrastructure, and identify where it breaks down.

Support scientific education that strengthens diagnostic confidence and appropriate patient identification, including disease staging, differential diagnosis, and interpretation of biomarker results.

Partner with institutions to understand the capabilities they require to deliver and monitor therapies in this class, and feed that intelligence into medical and cross-functional readiness planning.

Territory Ownership & Insight Generation

Own the medical profile of your assigned territory: define engagement priorities, uncover clinical care gaps, and capture actionable insights that inform medical, evidence-generation, and launch plans.

Map centers of excellence and emerging referral networks, recognizing that Alzheimer’s diagnostic and treatment capability in México is concentrated in a limited number of institutions with markedly different levels of readiness.

Support investigator-initiated trials, real-world evidence projects, registries, and publication activities in partnership with the broader Medical Affairs team.

Strategic Vision & Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner with Access, HEOR, Regulatory, Commercial, Marketing, and Compliance colleagues so Medical Affairs contributes as a strategic, evidence-based voice across the full product lifecycle, pre-launch, launch, and post-launch.

Contribute to the broader dementia-care conversation in México, with scientific societies, academic institutions, and patient and caregiver organizations, in a strictly non-promotional capacity.

What You Will Bring

Education & Experience (either path works)

Advanced degree in health sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD, or MSc) with at least 2 years of clinical, research, industry, or Medical Affairs experience, training or practice in neurology, geriatrics, psychiatry, or neuroscience is a strong advantage, OR

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences with 5+ years of relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical industry experience in a therapeutic area related to neuroscience or neurodegenerative disease.

Core Capabilities

Fluent English and Spanish, able to present complex scientific data and manage rigorous Q&A in both languages.

Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific evidence clearly to diverse audiences, build trusted multidisciplinary relationships, and translate qualitative field interactions into strategic insights.

Comfort with quantitative and imaging-based evidence, cognitive and functional rating scales, biomarker assays, and neuroimaging concepts, and the ability to discuss uncertainty and clinical meaningfulness honestly.

Digital fluency, comfort operating within CRM ecosystems (Veeva CRM), literature databases (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, UpToDate, ClinicalKey), virtual-engagement platforms (MS Teams), and insight/analytics dashboards; openness to AI-enabled internal tools that enhance medical affairs productivity.

Mobility, willing and able to travel approximately 50–60% nationally, including overnight, complemented by a parallel omnichannel engagement model for virtual interactions.

What Will Help You Stand Out

Working knowledge of Alzheimer’s diagnostic and outcome tools, cognitive and functional instruments (MMSE, MoCA, CDR-SB, ADAS-Cog, ADCS-ADL), CSF and plasma biomarkers, and amyloid or tau PET imaging.

Practical knowledge of COFEPRIS, CSG, and the Compendio Nacional de Insumos para la Salud (CNIS) processes, with contribution to value dossiers or payer-engagement activities.

Experience supporting the build-out of specialized care pathways, site readiness, or complex-therapy delivery models in a hospital or institutional setting.

Hands-on involvement in real-world evidence projects, investigator-initiated trials, disease registries, or peer-reviewed publications.

Experience with omnichannel and digital engagement (virtual advisory boards, asynchronous expert platforms, analytics dashboards).

Active participation in Mexican scientific societies (Academia Mexicana de Neurología, Sociedad Mexicana de Neurología y Psiquiatría, Asociación Mexicana de Gerontología y Geriatría) or in dementia-focused patient and caregiver organizations.

Leadership in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, or peer mentoring within Medical Affairs.
