The Position
As part of the Human Pharma Leadership team, and in alignment with the Integrated Customer Plans, leads and oversees the development and execution of the operational market access strategy for Canada, managing teams of specialized individuals in Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), Government Affairs/Patient Access Management/Advocacy, HealthCare Affairs, Strategic Account Management and Channel Management.

Responsibilities
Aligned with Human Pharma Leadership, leads Market Access teams in developing and implementing strategic plans on how to best position the value of our innovations, and work with Canadian health system stakeholders, governments and key decision makers to improve patient care - including faster access to innovation.
Via the Head of Government Affairs, aligned with ICPs, develops National / Regional advocacy strategies designed to maximize Canada's leverage during the negotiation of product listing agreements; Ensures high levels of collaboration across Health Economics and Pricing (as well as Medical and TAs) for HTA submissions and to develop Product Listing Agreement concepts (including price) that maximize profitability (working closely with Finance).
As a member of the Human Pharma Leadership team, provides direct input into local/global strategic planning as required, management processes, critical path issues/solutions,
resource management, etc.; Supports the Human Pharma Committee in assessing and evaluating strategy, operations, people, reviewing and refining organizational capabilities and business environment changes; Offers perspective on the overall landscape considerations and recommendations to optimize business results.
Direct management of Head of Government Affairs, Director HEOR, Director Strategic Accounts, Director HealthCare Affairs, Director Channel Management, and Coordinator; Utilizes Boehringer Global Performance and Talent Management process to recruit, develop, evaluate, and lead a highly motivated, performance driven team.
This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible .
Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.
Requirements
Minimum University Degree (Science or Business preferred)
Minimum of 10 years' experience in leadership roles in Pharma, preferably across Functions
Extensive leadership experience/people management, strategic planning & leading execution of various Market Access strategies combined with strong communication skills.
Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
