As a Clinical Pathology and Histopathology support Technician, you will interact on a daily basis with colleagues from Non-Clinical Safety and the Animal Science divisions. This mixed role involves responsibility for analyzing biological samples and developing new assay methods, while providing essential technical support to histopathology activities (tissue processing, slides preparation and Histology technologies development).
Key Responsibilities
Receive, check, and prepare biological samples from various matrices (blood, plasma, serum, urine) in accordance with established procedures
Perform biological analyses on various laboratory automated systems in hematology and clinical chemistry. Self-check study data before making them available to the department manager
Support histopathology activities: Necropsy, perform tissue processing (fixation, embedding, microtome/cryostat sectioning) and routine or special staining, Immunohistochemistry and RNAscope
Participate in the drafting of procedures and operating modes, as well as in the management/maintenance of equipment for both clinical biology and histopathology platforms
Depending on needs, participate in the development of new biomarker assay methods
Assist in the digitalization of slides (scanning) and the organized archiving of tissue samples and blocks.
Profile
Diploma: Bac +2/3 IUT, BTS or professional degree
Experience: Ideally 5 years in a bio-analytical laboratory Specific knowledge of biomarker assays: EIA technique, use of automated systems or manually
Additional knowledge in histopathology: Basic knowledge or willingness to be trained in histological techniques (necropsy, trimming, embedding, sectioning, and Molecular Histopathology technologies)
