Job Summary
This role is for a Senior Utilities & Maintenance Engineer responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of utility systems and electrical infrastructure across the plant. The position involves executing preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance, managing automation systems, and supporting qualification and validation activities. The engineer will oversee equipment such as chillers, compressors, boilers, and generators, while ensuring adherence to SH&E norms, regulatory standards, and internal quality systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
• You will be responsible for recognizing potential hazards during critical maintenance activities and coordinating safety requirements through work permits, LOTO implementation, and JSA reviews to ensure full compliance with SH&E norms.
• You will be responsible for planning and monitoring predictive, preventive, and shutdown maintenance of electrical systems and utilities, maintaining good housekeeping, and ensuring availability of critical spares while minimizing consumption.
• You will be responsible for performing equipment qualification and validation activities, preparing documentation in line with ISO, cGMP, USP, ISPE, IBR, and ISO 8573 guidelines.
• You will be responsible for operating and maintaining HVAC systems including chillers, compressors, cooling towers, and boilers, as well as ensuring smooth functioning of central water distribution operations.
• You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining control and automation systems, performing frequent backups, and identifying new areas for automation to reduce downtime.
• You will be responsible for troubleshooting breakdowns, performing CAPA using RCA, Why-Why, and incident investigation techniques, and ensuring MTTR and MTBF benchmarks are met.
• You will be responsible for training team members on basic maintenance procedures and tools, monitoring computerized maintenance systems, and supporting lean initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and Autonomous Maintenance.
• You will be responsible for coordinating small project modifications with plant leads, initiating purchase requisitions, inspecting received spares, and supporting budget estimation and forecasting for departmental activities.
Educational qualification-Diploma / Graduation in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field is mandatory

• Exposure to monitoring and responding to utility alarms and troubleshooting system issues to maintain optimal system performance is preferred.
• Experience in preparing and maintaining documentation, including maintenance logs and operational checks for utility/water systems, is desired.
• Exposure in energy efficiency projects and utility upgrades and automation initiatives (BMS, SCADA) is preferred.
