About this opportunity

Job Summary

We are looking for an individual for the Quality Control team, responsible for the sampling and analysis of water samples, preparation of water reports, and maintenance of microbiological reference cultures. The role includes GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) compliance, trend preparation for water analysis, and various tasks such as media preparation, growth promotion tests, and autoclave operation.

Roles & Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for Sampling & Analysis of water samples and preparation of water reports.

• You will be responsible for maintenance and records of microbiological reference cultures, GLP maintenance and compliance, prepare the trend of water analysis and environment monitoring.

• You will be responsible for the preparation of laboratory reagents, disinfectants, indicators and volumetric solutions.

• You will perform isolation and identification of reference cultures, and environmental and water isolates.

• You will perform media preparation, growth promotion test, autoclave operation, and maintenance of relevant documents.

• You will be responsible for biological indicator stock maintenance and spore enumeration study.

Educational qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field

Minimum work experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in microbiological analysis, preferably in a laboratory setting related to water quality

Skills & attributes:

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in sampling and analysis of water samples, including the preparation of water reports.

• Knowledge about GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) maintenance and compliance, ensuring accurate records and trend analysis for water analysis and environment monitoring.

• Experience in the preparation of laboratory reagents, disinfectants, indicators, and volumetric solutions.

• Skilled in the isolation and identification of reference cultures, as well as environmental and water isolates.

• Proficiency preferred in media preparation, growth promotion tests, autoclave operation, maintenance of relevant documents, maintenance of biological indicator stock and conducting spore enumeration studies.

Behavioural Skills

• Keen attention to detail in microbiological analysis and documentation.

• Organisational skills to manage microbiological reference cultures, laboratory reagents, and related materials efficiently.

• Problem-solving skills for applying in isolation, identification, and other microbiological tasks.

• Collaborates effectively with team members to ensure smooth laboratory operations.

• Effective communication skills for conveying microbiological findings, trends, and reports within the laboratory team.

• Adheres to safety protocols and practices in microbiological analysis, ensuring a safe working environment.
