Statistician Intern
As a Statistician Intern within the Pharmaceuticals Statistics US department at Bayer, you will gain a direct view into research and development and witness how clinical trials influence decisions during the drug development process. This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with senior-level Statisticians in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the analysis of clinical trial data and supporting highly knowledgeable trial and project Statisticians. At the end of your internship, you will present your research project to both the Statistics department and a non-statistical audience, enhancing your experience and exposure within the field.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Statistician Intern, are to:
Work on a research project with senior-level Statisticians in a dynamic environment;
Become involved in the analysis of clinical trial data and programming;
Provide support to trial Statisticians and Project Statisticians;
Present your research project to the Statistics department and a non-statistical audience at the end of the internship.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related fields from an accredited college/university;
Must be motivated and well-organized;
Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Good working knowledge of SAS, R, and/or Python;
Ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team as well as act autonomously, as appropriate.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must be a high performer interested in the interactions between science and policy, eager to work with dynamic people and contribute to a changing environment;
Candidates must be available for an assignment of up to three months at Bayer’s Whippany, New Jersey, site from mid-May to mid-August 2027 (different options are available);
Hybrid/home-based assignments will also be considered;
For non-US citizens, as required by current immigration law, it is the student’s responsibility to provide the appropriate documentation showing proof of eligibility to work and earn compensation in the United States.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $20.75 to $58.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
