Sr. Digital Product Manager, Forecasting

What you will do

In this vital role, you will lead the strategy, discovery, development, and adoption of high-impact digital products that improve how Amgen forecasts, plans, evaluates scenarios, and makes complex business decisions. You will work at the intersection of business strategy, customer needs, data science, and technology to translate sophisticated analytical capabilities into intuitive, trusted, and scalable products.

Key responsibilities include:

Translate Amgen’s digital strategy into product visions, roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and measurable outcomes.

Develop a deep understanding of customer decisions, workflows, assumptions, and planning challenges across Commercial, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and R&D.

Frame complex and ambiguous business problems as product opportunities, identifying where forecasting, optimization, simulation, scenario planning, automation, or AI-enabled decision support can improve outcomes.

Partner with business leaders, data scientists, engineers, architects, and designers to translate analytical methods and models into scalable and usable digital products.

Ensure forecasting and decision-support products make assumptions, uncertainty, tradeoffs, and model outputs understandable and actionable, with appropriate monitoring of model performance, adoption, and business outcomes.

Influence senior stakeholders, reconcile competing priorities, and align cross-functional teams around a shared product vision, roadmap, and measures of success.

Identify opportunities to incorporate generative AI, agentic capabilities, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation while supporting responsible AI, transparency, and appropriate human oversight.

Establish effective operating rhythms, decision rights, documentation, and communication practices for globally distributed teams.

Drive product adoption and value realization by measuring impact on business performance, efficiency, decision-making, and user experience.

Mentor product managers and contribute to an outcome-oriented product culture across Amgen.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Digital Product Management experience

OR

Master’s degree and 6 years of Digital Product Management experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Digital Product Management experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Digital Product Management experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Digital Product Management experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.

Preferred Qualifications:

Product Management and Product Mindset Proven digital product leader with experience connecting business strategy, customer needs, data and analytics, and technology.

Experience leading data-intensive, analytical, or decision-support products from discovery through launch, adoption, and scaling.

Demonstrated ability to translate complex decisions, planning processes, and analytical methods into compelling product strategies and intuitive customer experiences.

Strong customer-first and outcome-oriented mindset, balancing user needs, business value, data, and technical feasibility.

Experience applying Agile methods to multidisciplinary product, data science, and engineering teams.

Strong understanding of technology ecosystems, enterprise data platforms, and digital architecture principles.

Forecasting, Planning, and Decision Science Experience developing products that incorporate forecasting, predictive analytics, optimization, simulation, scenario planning, machine learning, or other advanced analytical capabilities.

Ability to partner effectively with data scientists and technical teams, challenge assumptions constructively, and communicate model outputs, uncertainty, and limitations to nontechnical stakeholders.

Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, consumer products, manufacturing, supply chain, or another complex planning environment is preferred.

Leadership and Interpersonal Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional product teams and drive execution without relying solely on formal authority.

Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, navigate competing priorities, and create alignment in ambiguous environments.

Exceptional communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills, including translating complex analytical and technical topics into clear business narratives.

Experience working with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Experience mentoring product managers or other senior individual contributors and strengthening broader product management capabilities.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
