The Senior Medical Advisor Immuno-Oncology – based in Riyadh - is part of the Medical Affairs Team and provides a bridge between clinical research and the cross-functional Brand Team. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of scientific projects related and not limited to broadly understood medical communication and education. The Senior Medical Advisor IO is accountable for developing, maintaining, and sharing Immuno oncology-related medical & scientific capabilities.

Responsibilities:

External Environment and Customer Focus

Develops and maintains strong relationship with scientific experts/Thought Leaders and external organizations in therapeutic areas of interest using various channels for interactions (1:1, group presentation; virtual meetings).

Effectively develops content and presents information to HCPs, as appropriate, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines and directives.

Sets up strong scientific collaboration scientific experts/Thought Leaders

Actively profile the medical landscape and continuously update knowledge and expertise in products, patient treatment trends, unmet medical needs, clinical trials and scientific activities. Understand the competitive landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers.

Collects and provides meaningful medical insights back to the organization to be actioned in support of the strategy development.

Medical Planning/Execution    

Delivers scientifically meaningful medical programs proposals and ensure flawless execution of medical activities to support overarching medical plan execution (e.g, Advisory Boards, Satellite Symposia, scientific roundtables, etc.)

Lead cross functional collaboration within matrix teams to ensure appropriate embedding of the medical perspective and aligned focus in key critical execution to achieve overall medical strategies and objectives.

Provide significant knowledge and insight to Head Office medical team (local/regional/worldwide) and local commercial organization to shape strategy.

Proactively coaches others on how they can enhance their scientific skills in this area.

Discuss and deliver Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) evidence based information reactively (ie, to government agencies, healthcare organizations, and payers), as appropriate.

Represent medical as a key reference point for internal stakeholders for Neuroscience

Compliance

Endorse and implement a culture of compliance

Adhere to all internal and external rules and regulations

Alert management or the Compliance Department to any possible compliance issues

Act as a role model who demonstrates consistent ethical and professional behavior.

Degree Requirements:

Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD)

Experience Requirements:

Working in a medical / scientific role with 5+ years’ experience.

Expert knowledge of Immuno Oncology

Expert Experience in the IO health care environment in KSA

Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data in an understandable and valuable manner to help HCPs best serve their patients.

Ability to develop and effectively manage new and existing HCPs relationships.

Developing field medical plans aligned with medical and overall disease & product objectives

Key Competency Requirements:

High level of scientific acumen, including the ability to interpret and present clinical data and effectively draw out clinical insights during dialogue with HCPs.

Ability to translate clinical data into Medical strategies and objectives

Possesses a strong Business acumen.

Embraces being independent and takes initiatives to further develop their scientific knowledgebase, while developing strong rapport and working relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

Demonstrates a sense of learning agility by seeking out and learning from unfamiliar experiences and then applying those lessons to succeed in the next new situation.

Drive to succeed and ability to adapt rapidly to an evolving and challenging entrepreneurial environment.

Demonstrates innovation and the ability to integrate innovative concepts from others into local plans.

Has the know-how to plan and execute effective and successful Learning Programs for HCPs.

Experience in reviewing medical content of promotional and non promotional materials

Possesses strong work ethics, ability to set priorities and manage time appropriately.

Holds a high level of integrity and good judgement, in order to navigate the requirements of the role effectively and compliantly in accordance with BMS policies and procedures

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Fluent in Arabic & English
