The Position

Roche Information Solutions (RIS) provides integrated digital solutions to deliver on the promise of affordable, high-quality, and accessible healthcare. RIS is accountable for the development and delivery of digital solutions, common Diagnostics architecture, and data management. Digitalization in healthcare is of increasing importance to deliver customer and patient value and shape the future of healthcare.
The Opportunity
We expect all our engineers to be hands-on in development across all experience levels. As a Full-Stack Engineer, you will demonstrate a deep understanding of front-end or back-end development (preferably both).
Must have skills: Hands-on agentic engineering skills, comfortable working with Claude Code or GitHub Copilot CLIs. Strong experience in creating reusable skills and agents.
Key Qualifications & Core Skills
Primary Languages: Exceptional hands-on skills in Java, Kotlin (or another JVM language), or TypeScript.
Secondary Languages: Working knowledge of both Java and TypeScript.
Frameworks: In-depth understanding of Spring Boot and Angular.
Databases: Hands-on knowledge of at least one RDBMS and one NoSQL / Document database.
Methodologies: Strong commitment to Test-Driven Development (TDD) in both front-end and back-end environments.
CI/CD: Working knowledge of at least one continuous integration system (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions).
Professional Experience
Lifecycle Experience: Lived through implementing, supporting, and iterating on at least one enterprise system for 5+ years.
Leadership: Proven experience in hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering talent.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have / Domain Expertise
Healthcare Systems: Knowledge of healthcare software (e.g., EPIC, Cerner Millennium, OpenEMR) and open standards (HL7, FHIR).
Domain Knowledge: Domain expertise in Oncology and General Practice Management is highly appreciated.
