Your Role

As a Senior Equipment Engineer, you will play a high-visibility role in keeping critical laboratory operations safe, reliable, compliant, and audit-ready. This position blends hands-on engineering troubleshooting with technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, vendor management, and continuous process improvement. You will move confidently between resolving complex instrument failures, optimizing maintenance workflows, and serving as a trusted technical partner to internal laboratory teams and external regulators. Responsibilities include:

Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across a wide range of laboratory and analytical equipment

Manage work orders, preventive schedules, and equipment history using Blue Mountain RAM (BMRAM) or similar CMMS platforms

Perform complex troubleshooting to resolve technical failures, equipment deviations, and adverse performance trends

Provide technical guidance, work reviews, and mentorship to junior maintenance technicians

Coordinate external vendors, field service engineers, and contractors for specialized repairs and calibrations

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, streamline compliance, and lower operational costs

Act as a primary subject matter expert representing equipment operations during client inspections and regulatory audits

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline AND 4+ years of experience in scientific equipment maintenance

OR

Associate degree in a technical discipline (such as Electromechanical Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Instrumentation, or Industrial Automation) AND 5+ years of experience in scientific equipment maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support in a regulated (GMP/GLP) environment

Practical experience using CMMS platforms such as Blue Mountain RAM (BMRAM) or similar asset management systems

Experience leading deviation investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and CAPAs to ensure audit readiness

Proven ability to manage vendors, contractors, and cross-functional partners like QA, Validation, and Facilities

Strong customer service and communication skills to act as a responsive, credible partner to internal lab teams

Experience providing technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to maintenance technicians

Track record of driving continuous improvements to streamline workflows and reduce equipment operational risk

Salary Range for this position - $80,700 - $136,000 annually

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
