About this opportunity

The Position

Lead the Future of Medicine – as (Senior) Clinical Program Lead in the Therapeutic Area of Pulmonology.

To ensure the fastest and most focused path from strategy to patients, we are evolving our OneHP organization. Together, we are simplifying our structures, strengthening the accountability of Therapeutic Areas, and creating clear interfaces between Innovation and Business. This ensures that our assets are efficiently transformed into successful brands, with the ultimate goal of delivering lasting value to patients around the world.

We are looking for a highly motivated physician-scientist to support the late-stage development of innovative therapies in bronchiectasis. As (Senior) Clinical Program Lead, you will play a key role in advancing a Phase III program through submission activities, pediatric development strategy, and cross-functional clinical leadership.

This position can be filled in Ingelheim or Biberach.

This position can be filled either as Clinical Program Lead or Senior Clinical Program Lead.

Tasks & responsibilities

Design and drive clinical development activities for a late-stage respiratory asset, with a particular focus on Phase III execution, submission readiness, and pediatric development strategy.

Guide cross-functional teams, including experts from clinical trial operations, biostatistics, biomarkers, and patient safety, to ensure high-quality execution as the clinical lead.

Oversee the clinical trial program and contribute to continuous benefit-risk assessment throughout the development lifecycle.

Provide input to regulatory strategy and clinical components of regulatory dossiers, labeling activities, and interactions with health authorities.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including development teams, key opinion leaders, steering committees, and safety monitoring boards.

Contribute to scientific publications, evidence generation activities, and Medical Affairs deliverables to support the overall asset strategy.

Additional tasks for Senior Clinical Program Lead:

Supervise and mentor other Clinical Program Leads within the assigned program area.

Represent the development team in governance and leadership committees and contribute to strategic portfolio decisions.

Requirements

MD degree with extensive clinical and scientific experience in pulmonology or respiratory diseases.

Several years of experience in clinical drug development within the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent experience in academic clinical research.

Experience interacting with regulatory authorities and contributing to global regulatory submissions.

Ability to evaluate and develop clinical development strategies, study concepts, and clinical trial designs.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Additional requirements for Senior Clinical Program Lead:

Long-term experience in clinical drug development within respiratory diseases.

Proven leadership experience in global matrix organizations and strategic project governance.
