The Position
Job description
The Delivery Management Professional - Scrum Master (SE6) leads moderately complex deliveries, proactively identifies improvements, manages diverse stakeholders, and contributes to strategic implementation. In this role, you will independently define and control the scope of medium to large initiatives, utilizing effective facilitation and analytical skills to drive value delivery. While navigating intricate stakeholder environments, you will connect team development with broader business objectives. Depending on the organization's needs, you may operate within role archetypes such as Project Manager, Service (Delivery) Manager, ITSM Process SME, Scrum Master, RTE, or Agile Coach.
Description of the area
The Clinical Submission Data and Content Generation & Reuse function focuses on modernizing the creation and management of clinical data and regulatory submission assets (data and content). It develops and deploys platforms for structured content management, enabling the reuse of approved components across documents. This group also pioneers the use of agentic AI to assist in generating, reviewing, and assembling complex submission assets (data and content), aiming to improve quality and reduce authoring timelines.
Job Responsibilities
Scope & Content Leadership
Independently defines, manages, and controls the scope of medium to large initiatives or significant workstreams with moderate complexity
Facilitates and coaches Product Owners and team leads in the scope definition process, aligning with strategic objectives, stakeholder expectations, and team dependencies
Proactively identifies, analyzes, mitigates scope-related risks and removes impediments
Champions the adoption of scope management best practices
Maintains detailed scope documentation and ensures transparency across all stakeholders
Accountability & Problem Solving
Independently leads analysis of moderate to complex delivery problems, driving root cause analysis using structured techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams)
Elicits complex stakeholder needs and translates them into actionable delivery plans
Accountable for developing comprehensive improvement plans with measurable outcomes and implementation timelines
Contributes to solution design and participates in validation activities to ensure quality delivery
Champions accountability culture by modeling ownership, dealing pragmatically with ambiguity, and using effective facilitation techniques
Mentors colleagues on problem-solving methodologies and builds team spirit through collaborative approaches
Stakeholder Management
Identifies and maps diverse stakeholders across functional areas (technical, business, operations, compliance, etc.)
Develops and executes comprehensive stakeholder communication plans tailored to different audience needs
Manages relationships proactively to act as a trusted advisor and escalation point
Shapes stakeholder perspectives through transparent communication and evidence-based recommendations
Navigates intricate stakeholder environments by identifying conflicts early, facilitating resolution, and ensuring alignment on priorities and trade-offs
Conducts regular stakeholder engagement activities (reviews, retrospectives, feedback sessions)
Impact & Strategy
Demonstrates consistent performance with measurable impact that extends to specific products, initiatives, or service clusters
Ensures value delivery by connecting tactical execution to strategic objectives
Takes a proactive role in shaping team processes, identifying process improvements, and implementing optimization initiatives
Contributes to product/domain goal achievement and participates in strategic planning sessions
Measures and communicates delivery outcomes, including velocity, quality metrics, and business value realized
Protects the team from external interruptions, ensuring the team remains focused on committed goals
Complexity & Product Size Management
Manages moderately complex initiatives or workstreams extending across products or services
Oversees the delivery of complex features in an Agile Release Train (ART) increment
Selects and tailors delivery methodologies ( Scrum , Kanban , hybrid approaches) based on initiative characteristics and team needs
Manages dependencies between activities, teams, and external work streams
Handles multiple concurrent initiatives and prioritizes effectively based on business impact
Facilitates Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews and, Sprint Retrospectives, and supports Product Owners in aligning cross-team dependencies and backlog prioritization
Business & Technical Acumen
Selects and adapts delivery methodologies (SAFe, Scrum etc) to optimize results for specific contexts
Manages complex delivery processes, including resource allocation, timeline management
Utilizes advanced delivery tools and techniques (e.g., dependency mapping, scenario planning, capacity planning) to address business challenges
Qualifications
Education / Experience
Proven track record operating in a Delivery Management archetype (e.g., Project Manager, Service Manager, Scrum Master, RTE, Agile Coach) managing medium to large initiatives or significant workstreams.
Deep familiarity with Agile principles, Scrum Pillars and Values and SAFe methodology
Demonstrated success managing medium to large initiatives or significant workstreams with measurable business outcomes
Experience delivering complex projects or services across functional boundaries (e.g., service transitions, product launches, ART increments)
Demonstrated experience translating requirements into strategic implementation plans and contributing to business planning and forecasting.
Relevant certification preferred: SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Scrum Master (CSM/PSM), or equivalent
Technical Skills
Strong ability to select, adapt, and apply appropriate delivery methodologies ( SAFe , Scrum & Kanban) based on context
Proficiency in delivery management tools and platforms (e.g., Jira, Lucid, Confluence, Monday.com )
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills; ability to conduct root cause analysis and propose evidence-based improvements
Experience with dependency management, risk management, and capacity planning techniques
Competency in defining and tracking KPIs related to delivery health (velocity, burndown, cycle time, quality metrics, etc.)
