Research Informatics Data Engineer
Build the digital foundation for scientific discovery
Every day, researchers rely on digital technologies to design experiments, generate data, and make scientific decisions.
We are looking for a Research Informatics Engineer who enjoys combining scientific understanding with technical expertise to build practical digital solutions that help researchers make better use of their data.
This is an engineering-focused Research Informatics role where you will help implement, configure and connect commercial scientific platforms, and build the data flows and integrations that enable modern research.
Your new role
At Lundbeck, Research Informatics works at the intersection of science, data and technology. We collaborate closely with researchers, colleagues across Lundbeck Global IT, and technology partners to implement, integrate and continuously improve the scientific systems, research data and digital workflows that support modern drug discovery.
As research becomes increasingly digital and data-driven, our role is to ensure that scientific systems evolve with the science, research data becomes a trusted asset, and digital technologies create real value for researchers.
You will join the Research Informatics team within Global Research. Working closely with researchers, colleagues across Lundbeck Global IT and technology vendors, you will help implement, configure and improve the digital platforms used across Research. You will contribute to scientific applications, research data and digital workflows that enable researchers to work more efficiently and make better use of their data.
This is a hands-on role where you will combine scientific understanding with technical skills to deliver practical digital solutions that support discovery research.
What you will do:
Support scientific applications
Work with researchers to gather, analyse and document business and scientific requirements for new digital capabilities.
Implement, configure and maintain scientific applications supporting Global Research.
Work with researchers to understand scientific workflows and translate research needs into practical digital solutions.
Support application lifecycle management, testing, documentation and user support.
Collaborate with colleagues across Lundbeck Global IT (EDE) and technology vendors to continuously improve the scientific application landscape.
Connect research data
Contribute to connecting research data across the digital research landscape.
Implement and support data flows, metadata models and integrations between scientific applications.
Apply FAIR data principles to improve the quality, accessibility and reuse of research data.
Help establish trusted research data that supports today's science and tomorrow's advanced analytics and AI.
Improve digital research
Identify opportunities to improve scientific workflows through better digital solutions.
Participate in implementation of new technologies and enhancements to existing platforms.
Contribute to testing, training and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate across Research, Lundbeck Global IT (EDE) and external partners to continuously improve the digital research environment.

Research Informatics is a collaborative team with expertise spanning life sciences, laboratory informatics, research data management and digital technologies.
Together we build and continuously improve the scientific systems, research data and digital workflows that underpin discovery research. We combine scientific understanding with technical expertise to ensure our digital capabilities evolve alongside the science they support.
The position is based at Lundbeck Headquarters in Valby.

You are motivated by building and improving digital solutions that scientists rely on, and enjoy turning scientific needs into robust systems, integrations and data flows.
Required qualifications
MSc in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant scientific or technical discipline.
Strong understanding of scientific research workflows.
Experience from pharmaceutical, biotechnology or academic research.
You have experience with several of the following
You have experience working with scientific systems, research data and digital workflows and enjoy translating scientific needs into practical technical solutions. Experience with requirements gathering and using modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, including large language models (LLMs) for coding and technical problem solving, is an advantage.
Business and scientific requirements gathering
Using large language models (LLMs) and AI-assisted development tools to support coding, scripting and technical problem solving
FAIR data principles and research data management
Data flows between scientific applications
Metadata and scientific data models
Scientific applications and laboratory informatics
Configuration of commercial scientific software
Systems integration and APIs
Python or other scripting languages
SQL, relational databases and modern data platforms
Cloud-based scientific platforms
Experience with in vivo research and biologics, including antibody discovery, is an advantage.

Annual base salary range: (582 000 - 799 700) DKK gross
At Lundbeck, we are committed to fair and transparent pay. Please note that the final base salary within the stated range will be based on relevant qualifications, skills, competencies, and level of proficiency as well as internal pay equity.
