About the position

We are seeking one Research Associate to join our team of Target Progression at Novo Nordisk Research Centre China. This role will support hands-on work of in vivo pharmacology for target validation and early pipeline at Novo Nordisk in cardiometabolic diseases. You will collaborate across disciplines to generate high-quality efficacy and mechanistic evidence and to inform drug discovery decisions.

Key responsibilities

Collaborate with responsible pharmacology scientists and cross-functional study teams, perform and coordinate rodent pharmacology studies to support drug discovery programs and translational strategies in cardiometabolic disease areas including diabetes, obesity and comorbidities (MASH, ASCVD, HF, CKD etc.).

Collect, process and analyse data.

Contribute to in vivo model selection, development and refinement, internally and through CRO.

Ensure quality documentation and compliance with relevant SOPs and internal standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Pharmacology, Biology or related disciplines).

Extensive hands-on experience in performing PK, PD pharmacology studies using cardiometabolic disease rodent models (for example, db/db mouse, DIO mouse/rat, ApoE KO mouse, CDAHFD mouse models) with relevant techniques.

Strong plus:

Hands-on experience in measuring mouse skeletal muscle function / energy expenditure (metabolic cage etc.), or hands-on experience in histopathology, molecular biology and ex vivo experiments (tissue section & staining, tissue extraction & qPCR, mouse mature adipocyte isolation & culture etc.).

Work experience in leading CROs.
