About this opportunity

Regional Medical Advisor- Field, Iraq

Product & Portfolio Strategy

Iraq

Shape the future of cardiometabolic care by bridging cutting-edge science with the healthcare professionals and digital opinion leaders who influence treatment decisions for millions of pa-tients worldwide

Your new role:

As a Regional Medical Advisor within our Cardiometabolic team, you will be at the intersection of science, strategy, and stakeholder engagement, driving medical education, building trusted relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Digital Opinion Leaders (DOLs), and translating real-time insights into actions that help shape cardiometabolic care across Iraq.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Planning and executing medical education activities, from congress symposia to standalone scientific events, while supporting speaker development, emerging KOL growth, and publication activities including abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts

Deliver scientific information to HCPs and experts; align HCP/KOL engagement with the brand event calendar; respond to medical information requests; and support the sales team with scientific and clinical questions on NN marketed products and disease awareness.

Owning one-to-one digital scientific engagement with DOLs, tailoring discussions to their online behaviours, preferred content formats, and platform dynamics, and activating them around key data moments through agile, compliant execution

Translating complex clinical evidence into clear, structured scientific narratives suited to digital contexts, while maintaining scientific accuracy, balance, and compliance at all times

Gathering and synthesising insights from digital interactions, DOL activity, and competi-tor intelligence to inform national and local medical and marketing strategies

Assessing and mapping local cardiometabolic standards of care to identify gaps, support-ing care pathway improvements across screening, diagnosis, referral, and access, and engaging medical associations to advance guideline-directed therapy

Delivering internal medical training to Sales, Access, and cross-functional teams to strengthen scientific understanding and ensure consistent, compliant communication

Supporting medical readiness across the full product lifecycle, from pre-launch through to post-launch, and coordinating cycle planning meetings and capability-building initia-tives

Your new department:

In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business devel-opment across our therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.

Within this area, the Cardiometabolic Medical Affairs team plays a pivotal role in shaping how Novo Nordisk's diabetes and obesity portfolio is positioned within the broader Cardio-Metabolic-Renal approach. You will join a team of medical professionals who combine scientific rigour with strategic thinking, working closely with commercial, access, and other internal stakeholders to ensure that the best available evidence reaches the HCPs and decision-makers who need it most.

Your skills & qualifications:

We are looking for a scientifically credible medical advisor who thrives in digital-first engagement and can turn complex data into compelling narratives. You will bring:

An advanced degree in life sciences (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent)

3–5 years of clinical practice or pharmaceutical experience in Medical Affairs; prior RMA experience is a strong advantage

Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills can provide recommendations despite uncertainty and pressure and are able to handle and simplify complexity while focusing on the bigger picture.

A digital-first mindset with the confidence to operate within evolving digital ecosystems, combined with genuine curiosity for emerging digital trends, tools, and engagement models

Strong ability to translate scientific data into clear, structured, and engaging narratives tailored to different digital contexts and audiences, with demonstrated strength in written scientific communication

Data-driven thinking, using digital signals and insights to guide interactions and priorities, paired with the agility to work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

A strong compliance mindset, particularly in the context of digital interactions and scien-tific exchange

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
