Production Research Field Testing Intern
As a Production Research Intern, you will assist with research protocols and related trial management and data collection to support the advancement of germplasm, trait and chemistry evaluations, agronomic practices, and new technologies focused on row crop production.
There are three site locations for these roles: Waco, Nebraska; Constantine, Michigan; Farmer City, Illinois.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Production Research Intern, are to:
Manage execution of day‑to‑day activities and work with the site team;
Complete assigned field data collection;
Execute day‑to‑day lab and field tasks as directed;
Review collected data and be responsible for the data management process at the site;
Participate in needed field maintenance and evaluation to maintain high‑quality research;
Direct and monitor the work of seasonal help during field season;
Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bayer’s Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards;
Work effectively in both team‑based and individual settings.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in agronomy, crop science, or a related field;
Valid driver’s license, as driving between local sites/fields is necessary for this position as well as for transportation to the work site;
Ability to build relationships and work well in a team‑based environment;
Self‑motivated with a strong results orientation;
Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail;
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to organize work effectively;
Excellent computer skills related to data acquisition and record keeping;
Demonstrated leadership ability;
Ability to attain pesticide applicator license.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
