About the Role:

Leads strategic efforts to develop, enhance, and oversee a state-of-the-art lab informatics software environment supporting research & discovery, preclinical development, and technical operations, driving innovation and efficiency across functions. Strategizes and directs comprehensive analysis of complex business challenges, developing automated solutions that align with organizational goals. Oversees application configuration and management for business functions, ensuring seamless implementation and execution of projects with responsibility for budget adherence and timely delivery. Functions as a technical data steward, providing guidance on scientific data processing, structure, relationships, and meaning. Provides visionary technical leadership to identify, evaluate, and design systems and procedures that are cost-effective and meet advanced user requirements. Establishes system specifications and working parameters for optimal hardware/software integration. Designs intricate details of automated systems and consults cross-functionally to resolve business or system challenges, leading cross-functional teams to successful outcomes. _

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

Strategically leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of non-GxP and GxP system projects (e.g., LIMS, ELN, Modeling & Design, Business Intelligence, domain-specific AI/ML) for sophisticated data acquisition, tracking, processing, integration, and advanced analytics, including AI/ML enablement and adoption, encompassing evaluation of technical requirements for groundbreaking software system initiatives

Pioneers’ integration solutions for novel research & discovery, preclinical development, and technical operations lab informatics systems, enabling innovation and operational efficiency

Serves as a technical data steward to guide the design and governance of data pipelines, data models, metadata structures, reference data, and semantics/ontologies, promoting consistency, interoperability, and quality of scientific data

Represents and drives strategy on large, interdisciplinary teams and fosters collaboration across departments

Proactively monitors and resolves complex technical issues, spearheading improvements for existing data systems

Develops and leads large and multiple cross-functional and cross-organizational projects or programs with high resource requirements, risk and/or complexity

Drives improvements for discipline / functional area based on understanding of business needs and industry trends

Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view

Develops standards, tools, and knowledge requirements for discipline / functional area

Guides and mentors less-experienced colleagues to provide an example of innovation and excellence

Contributes to the development of company objectives and principles

Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles

Drives achievement of company goals in creative and effective ways

Liaises with relevant departments to address production environment issues, enhancements, and manages release cycles

Investigates and implements cutting-edge technologies to elevate the quality and efficiency of departmental systems

Consults with key stakeholders to determine comprehensive requirements for data access, reports, and interfaces, ensuring successful deployment of data management solutions

Evaluates processes for potential enhancements and guides the development of procedures crucial for the effective implementation of pivotal software systems

Leads project teams as subject matter expertise in the capacity of application implementation, administration, and support across diverse initiatives

Requirements:

BS/BA degree in computer science or IT AND 6+ years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical environment OR

Master's degree in computer science or IT preferred AND 4+ years of relevant experience as noted above OR

PhD AND 2+ years of related experience OR

Experience supporting validated GxP applications for regulatory purposes in a biotech/pharmaceutical company is strongly recommended

Expertise in communicating technical information effectively across all organizational levels

In-depth knowledge of relevant application technologies, R&D systems

Deep expertise in best practices of functional discipline with comprehensive understanding of related business principles

Innovates and improves tools and processes within and beyond the functional area

Anticipates business and industry issues; recommends relevant process / technical / service improvements

Demonstrates broad expertise or unique knowledge

Considered an expert within the company and may have external presence in area of expertise

Applies in-depth expertise in discipline and broad knowledge of other closely related areas to improve efficiency of team

Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams

Good leadership, mentoring skills and abilities typically leads lower levels and/or indirect teams

Excellent computer skills

Excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

Sees broader picture and longer-term impact on division/company

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $132,700.00-$182,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
