The Position
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow (m/f/d) to join our Discovery Sciences team. In this role you will be at the forefront of Science, enriching and analyzing Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) in order to deduce a diagnostic potential and address different medical needs. Your responsibilities will encompass the design, execution, and analysis of wet-lab experiments.
This position is embedded within the Discovery Sciences Chapter at Roche Diagnostics GmbH. As part of the Technology Program, you will join a high-impact team of researchers dedicated to pioneering next-generation diagnostic solutions.

Your tasks
Perform the enrichment of EVs from human matrices, predominantly via immunoprecipitation, but also other methods like SEC, dUC and AF4.
Analysis and quality assessment of the enriched EVs with different state-of-the-art methods and technologies (targeted and untargeted like mass spectrometry, RNA sequencing, luminescence) in cooperation with other departments
Partner with bioinformatics, assay development, and sequencing teams to evaluate the applicability of the captured EVs for diagnostic platforms.
Drive interdisciplinary meetings to share data, leverage expertise across functions, and contribute to the broader Diagnostics strategy.
Document findings for patent filings and present research in stakeholder meetings, scientific journals, and international conferences.
Your profile
You have successfully completed a PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related field including 3+ years of experimental research experience and a strong track record of peer-reviewed publications.
You have deep expertise in the biology, enrichment and analysis of Extracellular Vesicles as well as the respective laboratory techniques, such as immunoprecipitation, size exclusion chromatography, asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation, and immunoassays like ELISA and Western Blot,
Your profile is complemented by proficiency in working with nucleic acids like RNA isolation and RNA sequencing.
Your knowledge and application of statistical concepts is considered a plus
You are goal-oriented and eager to establish new wet-lab techniques and scientific concepts
Your personal drive and your ability to learn and take over responsibility is a key value for us.
You possess excellent communication skills and fluency in English
This position requires handling of human fluid samples, i.e. potentially infectious material (Biosafety Level 2, “Infektionsschutzgesetz”) under company safety standards.
When does it start?
This position should be filled with effect January 2027 and is limited to 2 years.
