Tasks & responsibilities

You independently design, conduct and evaluate studies to develop physiologically relevant, biopredictive dissolution approaches for challenging compounds and advanced oral formulations.

By investigating dissolution, supersaturation and precipitation, you derive mechanistic insights into how drug substance properties, formulation attributes, manufacturing variables and test conditions influence in vitro performance.

Building on these insights, you apply the developed approaches to drug development questions and critically assess their applicability and limitations.

Your findings enable you to develop practical recommendations and best practices for oral drug product development.

Using digital, data-driven and computational tools, you analyze complex datasets and support evidence-based decisions.

As part of a multidisciplinary environment, you collaborate with experts in formulation development, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, modeling and regulatory sciences.

Through scientific reports, peer-reviewed publications and presentations, you communicate your research findings to internal teams and at international conferences.

Requirements

PhD in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Food Science or a related discipline.

Hands-on experience in dissolution testing, oral formulation development, biopharmaceutics or a related experimental field. Experience with poorly soluble compounds, amorphous solid dispersions, supersaturation or precipitation is advantageous.

Experience in analytical method development using techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, UV spectroscopy or comparable methods. Experience with solid-state or particle characterization, imaging or laboratory automation is advantageous.

Sound understanding of oral drug absorption and its relationship to drug substance properties, formulation performance and gastrointestinal conditions. Knowledge of physiologically relevant dissolution testing, IVIVR/IVIVC, PBBM/PBPK modeling or regulatory biopharmaceutics is advantageous.

Ability to independently plan and conduct experiments, critically analyze complex datasets and draw clear scientific conclusions. Interest or experience in computational tools, scientific informatics, knowledge management or AI-enabled knowledge discovery is desirable. Experience with statistical data analysis is advantageous.

Scientific curiosity, a proactive and well-organized working style, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines and functions. Excellent scientific communication, presentation and technical writing skills in English. German language skills are advantageous but not required.

As part of our commitment to transparency and fairness, salary information will be shared during the recruitment process. We also offer a comprehensive benefits and wellbeing package.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
