P&C Technology Innovation & Solutions Engineer
The P&C Technology Innovation & Solutions Engineer will be a key member of the People & Culture (P&C) Engineering team within Roche Digital Technology (RDT) . Operating at the intersection of public cloud infrastructure and core HR SaaS platforms, the P&C Engineering team provides the technical enablers and hands-on validation required to realize P&C strategic objectives .
As the P&C Technology Innovation & Solutions Engineer, you will act as a hands-on technical partner to Product Delivery Leads (PDLs) and work alongside Solution Architects . In this role, you will evaluate technology roadmaps, assess feature feasibility, write serverless glue code, and build cloud-native prototypes and integration adapters for our P&C platform ecosystem .
The Opportunity
In this role, you will drive hands-on technical execution, rapid prototyping, and architecture validation across our HR technology landscape. You will:
Partner daily with Product Delivery Leads and Solution Architects to evaluate feature feasibility, latency, rate limits, and integration impacts across platforms like Workday, ServiceNow, and Cornerstone .
Engineer lightweight, serverless cloud glue code using services like AWS Lambda and API Gateway to connect core SaaS platforms with internal cloud environments .
Build rapid Proofs-of-Concept (PoCs) to validate integration feasibility and streamline real-world data flow across cloud ecosystems .
Lead deep-dive technical discussions with prospective vendors, inspecting API/SDK capabilities, payload schemas, and authentication models beyond high-level product demonstrations .
Drive technical Security Risk Assessments (SRAs) and detailed data-flow mappings for new tools and integration patterns in close coordination with Cybersecurity teams .
Analyze existing P&C system capabilities and cloud resources to eliminate redundant middleware, optimize runtime performance, and ensure full utilization of tools .
Test API payloads, webhooks, and modern authentication protocols in real-world cloud environments to ensure robust execution before squad deployment .
Translate complex cloud and API performance parameters into clear technical trade-offs to help business stakeholders and product leads make informed decisions .
Who you are
We are looking for an accountable, self-driven engineer who thrives on solving technical roadblocks and inspecting cloud capabilities . To excel in this role, you bring:
Experience: 4–6 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, integration engineering, or senior technical systems analysis within an enterprise setting .
Education & Certifications: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, alongside active certification in a major public cloud platform (AWS certified like Solutions Architect Associate/Developer preferred, or Azure/GCP) .
Cloud Infrastructure Proficiency: Hands-on experience building and managing core serverless cloud services, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, EventBridge, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager .
APIs & Integration Expertise: Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, JSON/XML payloads, and modern authentication protocols like OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML .
Scripting Skills: Proficiency in modern scripting languages, such as Python or Node.js/TypeScript, for rapid PoC creation and automated data transformations .
Security & Risk Assessment: Practical experience conducting Security Risk Assessments (SRAs), data flow modeling, payload schema validation, and technical risk reviews .
Proactive & Collaborative Mindset: Strong self-driven curiosity to write PoC code without waiting for exhaustive specs, combined with the ability to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams .

How we calculate "similar"
No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.
Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.
0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
