The Position

Medical Manager Cardiac and Women’s Health – Roche Diagnostics Ltd

Who we are

Roche is one of the world’s leading research-based healthcare companies, providing innovative products to both the Pharmaceutical and Diagnostics industries. We are passionate about transforming patients lives and at Roche, we focus on developing innovative medicines and diagnostic tests that help patients live longer, better lives.

Roche Diagnostics provides a wide range of products and services to the NHS and healthcare organisations to support the diagnosis and treatment of people and patients.  An exciting Cardiac and Women’s Health Medical Manager opportunity has arisen within the UK Medical Affairs function based in the UK.

The opportunity

Diagnostics can play a powerful role in changing what happens next for a patient, helping healthcare professionals make better-informed decisions at the moments that matter.

We’re looking for a Medical Manager – Cardiac & Women’s Health to join our UK & IRE medical affairs team and help shape how scientific innovation translates into clinical practice and better patient care.

You’ll lead the UK medical strategy for Cardiac & Women’s Health, build trusted partnerships across the healthcare community, shape evidence generation and provide the medical leadership that helps innovative diagnostics reach the patients and pathways where they can make the biggest difference.

What you’ll do

As the medical and scientific lead for Cardiac & Women’s Health, you’ll:

Own and deliver the UK medical strategy and plan, setting clear priorities and taking accountability for outcomes and budget.

Build trusted scientific partnerships with healthcare professionals, clinical experts and other external stakeholders, including leading KOL engagement and advisory boards.

Shape evidence generation, identifying evidence gaps, leading local programmes and overseeing Investigator Initiated Studies.

Help innovation reach clinical practice, working across functions to support the appropriate adoption of high-medical-value diagnostic technologies.

Be a trusted medical voice, providing evidence-based guidance, medical review and input into regulatory and diagnostic policy submissions.

Look ahead, identifying emerging science, technologies and changes in clinical practice that could create new opportunities for patients and healthcare systems.

Lead through collaboration, working with colleagues across Medical Affairs, Market Access, Public Affairs, Health Economics, Marketing, Commercial and Business Development, alongside regional and global scientific teams.

Your initial focus will be Cardiac & Women’s Health, with opportunities to broaden your expertise across other priority areas as our medical and business needs evolve.

What you bring

You’ll bring scientific credibility, curiosity and the ability to turn complex evidence into clear, meaningful action.

We’re looking for:

A GMC-registered physician or relevant science-based PhD

Medical Affairs experience within the diagnostics or pharmaceutical industry

Relevant experience within Cardiac and Women’s Health

Strong clinical evidence interpretation and scientific communication skills

Experience building credible relationships with KOL’s, healthcare professionals and external experts

The ability to work effectively across functions and influence in a matrix environment

Strong project leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills

Experience in clinical research, diagnostic regulatory and governance frameworks, or leading people and matrix teams would be an advantage.

The impact you can have

At Roche Diagnostics, Medical Affairs connects science, healthcare and patient need.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to bring the external medical perspective into our decisions, generate evidence that answers important questions and help shape how diagnostic innovation is used across healthcare.

We value different experiences, perspectives and ways of thinking. If this opportunity excites you and you believe you can make a meaningful contribution, we encourage you to apply,  even if your experience doesn’t match every preferred criterion.

Bring your scientific expertise, your curiosity and your perspective and help us turn evidence into action that matters.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
