You will contribute to the development and execution of the medical strategy, build strong relationships with healthcare professionals and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL), and help translate emerging scientific evidence into meaningful solutions that improve patient outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, collaborative, and science-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted medical and scientific partner to the Brand Team and cross-functional stakeholders, providing clinical expertise to support informed, ethical, and patient-focused decision-making.

Contribute to the development and execution of the medical strategy and annual medical plan, in alignment with Global Medical Affairs and Brand Team objectives.

Provide accurate, balanced, and timely medical information, scientific guidance, and training to internal stakeholders, including the sales force, as appropriate.

Review promotional and training materials and provide medical input to ensure scientific accuracy, balance, and compliance with applicable standards and internal review processes.

Support Regulatory Affairs and Market Access activities by providing relevant medical and scientific input to cross-functional priorities.

External Engagement and Scientific Exchange

Build and maintain credible, long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, healthcare professionals, and other relevant external stakeholders within the oncology field.

Represent AbbVie through scientific presentations and discussions with Key Opinion Leaders, medical teams, and healthcare institutions.

Organize and moderate advisory boards, scientific lectures, educational activities, and other medical events in accordance with applicable requirements.

Participate in relevant scientific congresses, conferences, and medical meetings to remain up to date with emerging data, standards of care, and developments in the therapeutic area.

Therapeutic Area Expertise and Launch Readiness

Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of AbbVie’s products, the oncology treatment landscape, and the evolving scientific and competitive environment.

Translate emerging clinical evidence and scientific insights into relevant medical priorities and support the organization’s broader strategic objectives.

Contribute to the preparation and execution of new product launches, including the development of relevant sections of local submissions to the Ministry of Health, such as clinical background, scientific rationale, summaries of supporting data, and local clinical experience.

Clinical Research Activities

Design and implement clinical research projects within defined standards and budgets, including Phase IV studies, post-marketing clinical activities, registries, database projects, epidemiological surveys, and PMOS studies.

Provide oversight and support for Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), including review, approval, and ongoing execution in accordance with internal standards and applicable requirements.

Support the Affiliate Clinical Research Department, as needed, with activities such as protocol review, investigator and site identification, and feasibility assessments.

Qualifications

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
