The Position

The Opportunity

Are you ready to shape the future of healthcare and pioneer rapid, sustainable access to life-changing innovations? As our Market Access and Health Policy Head at Roche Hungary, you will serve as a senior executive leader accountable for architecting and executing our overarching strategy across the Pharma Division. Working as a key member of our local Enabling Team (ET), you will act as a strategic catalyst, bridging public affairs, healthcare policy shaping, pricing governance, and health economics to remove systemic access barriers for patients.

In this pivotal VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) leadership role, you will lead a high-performing team to demonstrate the tangible economic value of Roche’s portfolio. You will build high-impact strategic alliances with the Ministry of Health, National Health Insurance Funds, HTA bodies, and key decision-makers, ensuring our policy environments directly support patient outcomes.

Architect access strategies: Formulate comprehensive funding, pricing, and reimbursement plans for product launches, line extensions, and digital solutions.

Lead health policy & advocacy: Design long-term health policy strategies that align national healthcare pathways with European directives and local business priorities.

Drive value-based healthcare (VBHC): Implement innovative commercial models, risk-sharing agreements, and HEOR models to demonstrate product value to payers.

Build alliances & ecosystem partnerships: Partner with political bodies, health insurance executives, HTA experts, and patient organisations to transform healthcare systems.

Coach & empower teams: Lead, mentor, and build capabilities within a high-performing access and policy team in an agile, psychologically safe environment.

Champion digital evolution & AI: Leverage predictive analytics and applied AI to anticipate legislative shifts and optimize value-based contract models.

Drive OneRoche synergies: Align policy and access messaging across Pharma and Diagnostics to present a unified corporate voice in Hungary.

Who You Are

You are an empowering, forward-thinking leader who thrives on transforming complex healthcare environments into clear, actionable strategies. You bring an enterprise mindset, prioritizing patient outcomes and broader ecosystem impact over functional silos. You thrive in agile, dynamic settings and hold yourself to the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

Educational background: Master’s degree or University degree including PhD in Health Economics

Industry track record: 8–10+ years of progressive experience in pharma including 5+ years leading Health Policy, Market Access, or Pricing. Experience in the Hungarian Healthcare system including successful pricing and reimbursement negotiation experience in Hungary is strongly preferred

Proven people leadership: Demonstrated experience coaching, developing, and empowering cross-functional, high-performing teams.

Access & HEOR mastery: Deep expertise in national healthcare financing, HTA processes, drug reimbursement, and pharmacoeconomic modeling.

High-impact negotiation skills: Exceptional diplomatic and persuasion skills with a strong network across health authorities, payers, and trade associations.

Digital & AI literacy: Strategic interest or hands-on experience in using data analytics and applied AI to drive pricing and policy insights.

Languages: Native or fluent proficiency in Hungarian and complete fluency in English (written and spoken).

Location: This position is based in Budapest, Hungary.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
