The position provides analytical support for strategic planning by assessing capacity gaps, evaluating alternatives, and developing insights that support decisions related to utilization, productivity, sourcing, and capital investment. The role also contributes to planning tools, dashboards, and analytical capabilities that improve visibility and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Support strategic capacity planning across short, mid, and long-range planning horizons, including rough-cut capacity assessments and long-range network planning.

Provide capacity, utilization, and supply risk analysis for Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Supply Review, and Long-Range Financial Planning (LRFP) processes.

Identify future capacity gaps, risks, and opportunities, and develop analytical recommendations for sourcing, productivity, technology, and capital alternatives.

Develop and maintain capacity models, scenario analyses, and planning tools that support business decision-making.

Support probabilistic modeling and Monte Carlo simulations used to quantify capacity risk and evaluate potential outcomes.

Assist with capital planning analyses for new manufacturing lines, capacity expansions, and network investments.

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including utilization, Lenses Per Shift (LPS), downtime, production attainment, inventory entitlement, and capacity realization.

Support tracking of new manufacturing line qualification (PQ) milestones, ramp-up assumptions, risks, and expected capacity delivery.

Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that improve visibility to capacity performance, supply risks, and capital readiness.

Partner with Commercial, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Technology teams to align planning assumptions and support cross-functional planning activities.

Support continuous improvement of capacity planning processes, data quality, analytics, and digital tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field required.

5 to 8 years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning, Engineering, Finance, Analytics, or a related function.

Experience supporting IBP, Supply Review, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), capacity planning, or long-range planning processes.

Strong analytical, quantitative, financial, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with capacity modeling, utilization analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools.

Experience with planning platforms such as OMP, SAP IBP, Kinaxis, or similar systems preferred.

Experience with statistical analysis, simulation modeling, Monte Carlo simulation, or probabilistic forecasting preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and influence stakeholders through data-driven insights.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations.

Role Impact

This role helps ensure the organization maintains sufficient capacity to support business growth while balancing service, utilization, inventory, flexibility, and capital investment objectives. The Strategic Capacity Manager contributes to long-range planning decisions through analytical rigor, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement of planning capabilities.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
