Lead, New Product Planning Forecasting
DESCRIPTION:

The Lead, NPP Forecasting and Commercial Assessment (Associate Director) will be responsible for analyzing the internal and external pipeline opportunities of strategic interest to Sanofi’s portfolio. This person will be an integral partner to leadership as a key component of this role is determining the commercial value of internal and external assets across the business. The Forecasting and Commercial Assessment role is integral to help develop and execute pipeline business strategy at Sanofi.
This position will report to the Senior Director, NPP Forecasting and Commercial Assessment and will be based in Barcelona, Spain.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Manage patient-based forecasts projecting units and revenue for early Phase 3, Phase 2, and earlier stage products in Sanofi’s Pipeline Portfolio and for external asset evaluations
Collaborate with commercial brand leadership, new product planning (NPP), finance, and business development (BD) to define and assess opportunities and determine the overall fit and value to Sanofi
Be a key leader/contributor to the Strategic Portfolio reviews and Strategic Planning processes, by performing scenario-based analyses to assess options and guide business decision-making for pipeline assets & portfolio
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to develop the information and analytic toolbox to produce accurate revenue projections for existing assets and new market opportunities (market research, landscape analyses, due diligence on external opportunities, etc.)
Contribute to target product profile (TPP) development and assessment of current and future competitive landscape & product positioning, market access, and pricing
Lead the process of synthesizing relevant market research and competitive data into insights guiding commercial assessments & forecasting
Produce executive-level presentations with strong, logical, data-driven analyses
Partner with the Hub on projects in support of forecasting and commercial assessment
Collaborate with Hub contributors to fulfill business needs, advising on processes, deliverables and use of suitable Insights & Analytics tools as well as business principles
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience Requirements
BA/BS degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, MD, PhD) preferred
7+ years or relevant experience in pharmaceutical/ biotech role in Commercial Assessment/forecasting with BA/BS or 2 to 4 years of experience within Biopharma or life science consulting with a medical/scientific advanced degree
Skills and Competencies
Excellent analytical and forecasting skills, with demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain short and long-term forecast models with robust scenario-based planning
Experience in one or more of the following therapeutic areas: Immunology, Rare Diseases, Oncology and/or Neurology
Ability to understand and guide the decisions of senior management by assessing and presenting relevant insights, drivers, and barriers
Excellent project management skills, able to deftly balance multiple projects & priorities
Proven strategic thinking ability, with deep understanding of the pharmaceutical / biotech landscape and knowledge of pharmaceutical industry data sources (e.g., IQVIA anonymous patient-level data, syndicated reports, internal patient services & specialty pharmacy data, etc.) and payer / health insurance environment
Advanced knowledge of forecast structural planning and model building in Excel or other platforms (ex: cloud-based) and experience in applying AI / Machine Learning / data science methodologies to complex quantitative problems
Promotes a good working relationship with supervisors, colleagues, & cross-functional partners; ability to self-manage time and to meet deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed environment with many cross-functional partners; interact and communicate with all levels in the organization
Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
Experience with design and conduct of healthcare provider primary market research (MR), including demand studies, qualitative, & quantitative methodologies and/or real-world data (RWD) analytics such as claims-based and EHR analyses
Experience with VBA or programming languages (e.g., SQL, R, Python, etc.) is a plus, as is proficiency accessing and manipulating large data sets via cloud-based data warehouse / analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)

The salary range for this position is :€59.600,00 - €79.467 Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
