Director, Global Value & Access Business Development

In the context of Amgen’s increasing emphasis on acquisition/licensing as drivers of growth and the rapidly evolving pricing and access environment, Amgen requires a dedicated role focused on drug pricing, coverage and access capability to support our business development activity.

The individual in the position will understand there is work under pressure/tight timelines and use their strong critical thinking skills and consulting mindset to make assumptions with limited data, and collaboration across multiple partners engaged in the entire business development process.

Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

BD point of contact for GV&A input on pricing, access and coverage assumptions within BD commercial assessments. Coordinate with regional and country V&A and cross-functional partners to align on GV&A assumptions.

Research & Analysis. Drive fit-for-purpose research on BD targets. Use key databases (Navlin, Analysource, IQVIA MIDAS, AlphaSense, DRG, MMIT, CMS Medicare, etc.) and BD diligence material to research target product, key analogs and competitors. Work with Operational Pricing team and external agencies on secondary and primary payer research. This role will require significant time spent on researching, evaluating, and collaborating with internal teams on background material related BD targets prior to finalizing inputs

Commercial Assessment. Provide price and access assumptions for BD revenue forecasts based on target product profile and range of scenario sensitivities. Lead cross-functional teams on key drivers of pricing/access risks and opportunity for product strategy and revenue forecasts.

BD Process. Participate in deal governance and project meetings to ensure GV&A inputs are aligned with cross-functional team assessment, timelines and key decision points for BD projects.

Additional opportunity to lead strategic projects and/or serve as Access Strategy Lead for internal early pipeline products

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
