About this opportunity

Location: Barcelona - Spain (3 days working from the office and 2 days working from home)

Why This Role Is Crucial Now

As data becomes increasingly central to how EUCAN & International makes decisions, scales capabilities, and strengthens commercial execution, we are evolving our Advanced Analytics & Data Management capability within Business Systems.

This is a strong opportunity to shape how business needs are translated into trusted, scalable, and future-ready data and analytics solutions across the region. You will help build the foundations for better reporting, stronger governance, more reusable data products, and improved decision-making, while also supporting the adoption of smarter, more efficient ways of working.

This position is suited to someone who wants to shape the end-to-end solution itself, from backend data engineering to customer-facing BI and analytics solutions. The Business Analyst Lead for Advanced Analytics & Data Management will define requirements, ensure solution integrity, strengthen the business layer of data products, validate outputs, and enable trusted business consumption of data assets.

It is also a forward-looking opportunity. Beyond supporting current reporting and data needs, you will help identify where processes can be streamlined and where new technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, can improve efficiency, quality, and scalability with the right level of governance.

This Is What You Will Do

You will analyze business needs to shape data and analytics solutions and ensure their integrity across the full lifecycle, from requirement framing and solution design through validation, onboarding, go-live, and continuous improvement.

You will act as the business-facing anchor for Advanced Analytics & Data Management within Business Systems, working across commercial teams, Alexion Data Office (ADO), IT, engineering, and data product stakeholders. You will bring structure to business demand, clarity to solution requirements, and discipline to the validation of business-facing outputs.

You will also help the organization evolve how it works. This includes identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce duplication, optimize processes, and apply new technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, where they can add value in a practical, governed, and business-relevant way.

Support prioritization and traceability of requirements across Business, ADO, and technical teams.

Bring a process redesign mindset by identifying where workflows can be simplified, standardized, or improved rather than simply replicated.

Apply the “as far downstream as possible” principle by identifying when improvements or data quality issues should be addressed in source systems, in close partnership with Business Systems owners and IT system owners

2.Ensuring Integrity of Data Products and Analytics Solutions

Support the business design and integrity of data products, dashboards, and analytics solutions so they are trusted, reusable, and aligned with intended business outcomes.

Lead or support semantic and metric modelling, including KPI logic, business-layer definitions, and alignment of reporting semantics.

Support metric implementation, iterative prototyping and feedback, and data quality and reconciliation from a business perspective.

Ensure solutions are designed with strong business traceability, metadata awareness, and readiness for FAIR and increasing AI-ready use cases.

Support the business validation of how data is structured, consumed, and reused across reporting and analytics products.

Contribute to governance and certification of trusted datasets that support regional and country decision-making.

3.Owning Key Business Analyst Activities Across Core Scenarios

Operate as the lead Business Analyst across the full lifecycle of data and analytics solutions, ensuring that business needs are correctly framed, validated, and translated into solutions that can be adopted with confidence.

Lead the business analysis activities required for new dashboards, reporting enhancements, data product changes, source onboarding, and solution updates.

Support business framing, impact assessment, and fit-gap analysis for new requirements and evolving business needs.

Support UAT, business validation, and sign-off across dashboards, data products, and user-facing solutions.

Confirm that delivered outputs meet business expectations and support decision-making without unnecessary rework.

Help rationalise reporting demand and identify opportunities to reduce duplication through reuse of existing trusted assets.

Assess where automation or AI-supported validation could improve speed, consistency, and quality while maintaining appropriate controls.

5.Enabling Workflow Streamlining and AI-Supported Process Optimization

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
