Biomarker Scientist, Preclinical Fluid Biomarkers and Occupancy
Can you turn advanced bioanalytical data into decisions that accelerate neuroscience drug discovery? Connect fluid biomarkers with in vivo pharmacology and clinical translation.
Your new role
You will develop and apply fluid biomarker strategies that inform critical decisions across Lundbeck's discovery and translational neuroscience programmes. Using LC-MS/MS, quantitative proteomics, peptidomics and other emerging methods, you will design, qualify and implement targeted and untargeted bioanalytical workflows for CSF, plasma, blood, brain and other relevant tissues. You will plan and lead in vivo pharmacology studies, linking drug exposure, target engagement and pharmacodynamic effects to biological readouts. You will critically interpret complex datasets and translate the findings into clear project recommendations. As scientific lead or Study Director, you will take ownership of internal and external studies, working with discovery, DMPK, translational medicine, clinical biomarkers, CROs and academic partners.
Your future team
You will join our 13-person Preclinical Fluid Biomarkers and Occupancy department at Lundbeck's R&D headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen. Our team brings together scientists, research assistants, laboratory technicians and students to investigate compound effects in mechanistic animal models and measure related fluid biomarker changes. We combine hands-on science and a translational mindset to generate data that support project decisions.
The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
What you bring to the team
You enjoy solving scientific problems, working across disciplines and turning complex findings into clear recommendations. We are looking for:
A PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, biochemistry, bioanalytical sciences, biomedical sciences or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS and mass spectrometry-based proteomics, including the development and qualification of bioanalytical assays in biological matrices.
Experience designing, planning and executing in vivo pharmacology studies, together with FELASA B certification or equivalent.
Understanding of translational biomarkers, PK/PD and target engagement, and the communication and collaboration skills to lead studies and work effectively with project teams and external partners.

How we calculate "similar"
No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.
Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.
0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
