As an Associate Scientist in Analytical Development, you will play a pivotal role in advancing BioNTech’s innovative antibody and ADC pipeline. In this hands-on, laboratory-based role, you will contribute to the development and execution of phase-appropriate analytical methods using chromatography (HPLC/UHPLC), electrophoretic techniques, and other relevant analytical platforms. Your work will directly support key CMC milestones, translating high-quality data into impactful technical conclusions that drive program progression with the potential to benefit patients. Collaborating closely with the Analytical Development team and cross-functional partners, you will ensure the timely delivery of well-documented results in alignment with BioNTech’s mission to harness the power of science for human health.
Your Contribution:
• Design, develop, and execute analytical methods with a focus on chromatography- and electrophoresis-based techniques while supporting additional analytics platforms as required
• Apply technical expertise to troubleshoot and interpret analytical methods, contributing to assay training and knowledge sharing within the team
• Support technology transfer activities through method gap assessments and analytical method transfer processes
• Troubleshoot complex analytical challenges and communicate results effectively in cross-functional meetings
• Prepare clear technical documentation and deliver impactful scientific presentations to support analytical development initiatives
• Maintain high standards of experimental design, data integrity, and documentation while meeting project timelines independently or as part of a collaborative team
A Good Match:
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years or Master’s degree with 5 years of relevant biopharmaceutical analytical development experience
• Strong hands-on expertise in HPLC/UHPLC method execution, development, troubleshooting, and data interpretation
• Exposure to biologics characterization techniques such as SEC, RP, icIEF, CE-SDS, ELISA, LC-MS; advanced expertise across all platforms is not required but preferred
• Familiarity with method qualification/validation, lifecycle management, statistical tools/DoE; advanced experience is advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team within a dynamic development environment
• Strong skills in data analysis, technical writing, problem-solving, and verbal communication

Your benefits and remuneration:
Expected Pay Range: $85,700/year to $137,100/year + benefits, annual bonus & equity (bonus and equity is variable and dependent on company and individual performance). Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities .
