What you’ll do
As Advanced GMP Material Scientist, you will act as Material Responsible for GMP materials used across Novo's clinical pipeline. You will support material qualification and set the right level of incoming control based on material criticality, supplier and supply chain risks, process needs, storage conditions and clinical phase of use. Most importantly, you will become the team’s driving force for data-driven and AI-assisted process optimisations, bringing existing and new ideas to life so materials are fit for purpose, compliant and available when needed.
You will take ownership for GMP materials and help the team improve how work gets done. Overall, your work will include:
Acting as Material Responsible for GMP materials used within clinical development by supporting material qualification and defining the right level of incoming control.
Data-driven and AI-assisted process optimisations within the team and department, turning existing and new ideas into practical improvements.
Coordinating across CMC projects and multiple stakeholders, creating clarity and momentum where priorities shift.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a quality-minded scientist or engineer who combines scientific curiosity with structure, ownership and collaboration. You hold a relevant MSc (or PhD) within natural science, computer science, pharmacy, engineering or a related field. You will thrive in this role if you have:
Experience with, or a strong eagerness to learn about, GMP, QMS and regulated pharmaceutical development or manufacturing.
Experience with data-driven and AI-assisted optimizations and related project management in a scientific context.
The confidence to set direction, ask questions, challenge assumptions and speak up when something is unclear or stalled.
Experience coordinating tasks across projects with many stakeholders and changing priorities.
A structured, proactive and collaborative approach to decision-making and follow-through.
Equally, strong external experience is valued - what matters most is your ability to learn quickly, collaborate, take ownership and apply sound scientific and quality judgement.
Who you’ll work with
You will join the GMP Materials team within the CMC Drug Substance Process Operations department, part of the wider CMC Drug Development area in Global Manufacturing & Supply. Based in Bagsværd, the team connects scientific understanding, GMP compliance, supplier knowledge, QMS requirements, supply chain robustness, system data and practical manufacturing needs across Novo's clinical pipeline.
You will work closely with CMC projects, QA, QC, sourcing, warehousing and supply chain colleagues, as well as external suppliers. It is a diverse team in personality, culture and professional background, and a team that is highly motivated to implement new strategic initiatives and process optimisations using data and AI platforms, in line with the direction set through The Novo Way.
What you can expect here
You will work in a collaborative, quality-focused environment where your expertise shapes decisions and your ideas can move things forward. You will be trusted to take ownership, speak up and challenge assumptions, while being supported to grow – whether by deepening your GMP and QMS knowledge or by building new skills at the forefront of data and AI within pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.

How we calculate "similar"
No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.
Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.
0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
