About this opportunity

ROLE SUMMARY

The Access & Value Lead - Middle East is a strategic member of the Middle East Leadership Team, accountable for shaping and executing an integrated access and value agenda across the cluster. The role leads cluster strategy and in-market execution across pricing, reimbursement, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), value evidence, patient access and priority market-specific initiatives, ensuring Pfizer innovations reach patients sustainably while delivering portfolio value and supporting business growth.

Based in Cairo, the role serves as a senior external face of Pfizer in Egypt on access and value topics, building trusted relationships with government authorities, payers, healthcare institutions, policy stakeholders and relevant ecosystem partners. Internally, the role connects central strategy with market execution across Cairo and Dubai hubs, aligns access priorities with category and market plans, and builds a high-performing Access & Value organization capable of navigating diverse healthcare systems and payer environments.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. ENTERPRISE ACCESS & VALUE STRATEGY

·       Own and translate the Middle East Access & Value strategy into clear market, category and portfolio priorities aligned with the cluster operating plan and growth agenda.

·       Lead integrated access planning across Vaccines, Oncology & Rare Disease, and Primary & Specialty, ensuring strategic consistency while allowing differentiated market execution.

·       Identify and sponsor access opportunities that improve patient reach, strengthen system partnerships and create sustainable value for Pfizer and healthcare stakeholders.

·       Establish decision rights, governance and operating rhythms that connect central capabilities with market-facing access teams across the Cairo and Dubai hubs.

2. STRATEGIC PRICING & PRICE GOVERNANCE

·       Lead end-to-end pricing strategy across the Middle East, including launch pricing, lifecycle pricing, international reference pricing exposure, price corridors, sequencing and scenario planning.

·       Chair or lead cluster pricing governance, ensuring pricing decisions, exceptions, discounts, rebates and free-goods proposals are evidence-based, compliant and aligned with long-term portfolio value.

·       Embed pricing assumptions and access risk scenarios into operating plans, forecasts, business cases and investment decisions.

·       Anticipate cross-market price interdependencies and develop mitigation plans that balance access, affordability, competitiveness and value preservation.

3. HEOR, VALUE EVIDENCE & REIMBURSEMENT

·       Set the cluster HEOR and value-evidence agenda, prioritizing economic models, budget-impact analyses, real-world evidence and locally relevant value propositions.

·       Oversee the development and adaptation of reimbursement and value dossiers, ensuring global evidence is translated into credible, market-relevant submissions and payer narratives.

·       Partner with Medical and global/regional Access teams to close evidence gaps and generate insights that support reimbursement, formulary inclusion, value communication and policy dialogue.

·       Raise organizational capability in evidence-based value communication and the use of HEOR in access strategy and stakeholder engagement.

4. MARKET-SPECIFIC STRATEGIC PROJECTS

·       Lead selected high-impact, market-specific access projects where senior sponsorship and cross-functional orchestration are required, particularly in priority and complex markets.

·       Design tailored responses to local access barriers, which may include reimbursement pathways, innovative contracting, affordability solutions, institutional partnerships, public-sector access or system-level initiatives.

·       Establish clear objectives, milestones, governance, risk management and impact measures for strategic projects; ensure learning is transferred across relevant Middle East markets.

·       Act as executive sponsor for priority access initiatives that sit across brands, categories or functions and require enterprise-level alignment.

5. EXTERNAL LEADERSHIP

·       Serve as a senior external face of Pfizer in Egypt for access, pricing, reimbursement, value and healthcare-system discussions, in close alignment with the Cluster Lead and Policy & Public Affairs.

·       Build trusted, long-term relationships with health authorities, payers, procurement and reimbursement bodies, healthcare institutions, academic and health-economics stakeholders, and relevant industry forums.

·       Represent Pfizer with credibility and executive presence in strategic external engagements, articulating evidence-based positions that support patient access, innovation and health-system sustainability.

·       Coordinate enterprise stakeholder strategies for Egypt, ensuring one Pfizer voice, disciplined engagement planning and appropriate internal governance.

6. BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP & PORTFOLIO IMPACT

·       Partner with Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, Finance, Policy & Public Affairs, Legal, Compliance and global/regional Access to integrate access strategy into category and market plans.

·       Provide robust access, pricing and reimbursement assumptions for launches, business development assessments, portfolio prioritization and operating-plan choices.

·       Monitor policy developments, payer dynamics, tender environments, competitive access moves and healthcare-system changes to identify risks and opportunities early.

·       Define and track outcome measures for access expansion, reimbursement progress, pricing quality, evidence delivery and strategic project impact.

7. ORGANIZATION & PEOPLE LEADERSHIP

·       Lead, develop and inspire the Middle East Access & Value organization, creating clarity of accountability across central capabilities and market-facing roles.

·       Build functional depth in pricing, HEOR/value evidence, reimbursement, stakeholder engagement and strategic project leadership.

·       Allocate people and budget to the highest-value priorities, simplify ways of working and promote collaboration across geographies and therapy areas.

·       Create a culture of courage, excellence, equity and joy, with strong standards of performance, inclusion, compliance and development.

·       Recommends cluster pricing, access and reimbursement strategy and escalates decisions in line with delegated governance.

·       Sets cluster HEOR and value-evidence priorities and directs deployment of Access & Value resources and budget.

·       Approves the functional approach, governance and success measures for priority market-specific strategic projects.

·       Represents Pfizer externally within approved mandates and coordinates senior access engagement in Egypt.

·       Holds the Access & Value organization accountable for quality, pace, compliance and measurable impact.

CAPABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

·       Proven success shaping access strategies across multiple markets and navigating complex payer, government and healthcare-system environments.

·       Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise pricing decisions, value-evidence strategy and reimbursement programs with strong commercial and financial judgment.

·       Credible external leadership experience with senior government, payer, institutional and policy stakeholders; Egypt experience is strongly preferred.

·       Strong track record leading cross-functional strategic projects from problem definition through execution and impact measurement.

·       Enterprise mindset and ability to influence senior leaders in a complex matrix; capable of balancing cluster consistency with market-specific realities.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
