Your Role
As the (Sr.) Manager of External Innovation & Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, developing, and managing collaborations with startups, research institutions, and technology providers in laboratory automation and other emerging technologies. Your efforts will drive value and business impact across company’s three sectors, Healthcare, Life Science, and Electronics, both locally and globally, with China market for global impact.
1.Drive Innovation Collaborations
Identify, evaluate, and develop collaboration opportunities that generate value across Healthcare, Life Science, and Electronics, with a primary priority on laboratory automation and a secondary priority on any other relevant emerging technologies.
2.Lead Strategic External Innovation Projects
Act as the project lead for key external collaborations, ensuring effective project management, timely milestone delivery, and alignment with Science & Technology (S&T) innovation priorities.
3.Build and Develop the External Innovation Ecosystem
Establish and maintain strong relationships with startups, technology providers, research institutes, and industry partners within the life science and laboratory technology ecosystem.
4.Stakeholder Management and Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, global S&T colleagues, and external partners to ensure alignment of innovation initiatives with business priorities and seamless project execution.
5. Ecosystem Intelligence and Technology Trend Monitoring
Continuously monitor developments in laboratory technologies and other emerging technologies within the China innovation ecosystem to inform S&T innovation strategy.
Who You Are
Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
6–10 years of experience in life sciences, laboratory technologies, or related fields.
Proven experience in business development, innovation partnerships, or ecosystem collaboration roles.
Familiarity with laboratory automation technologies.
Experience managing cross-organizational collaboration projects.
Prior experience in large multinational organizations is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of the life science and laboratory technology ecosystem.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proficient in evaluating emerging technologies and identifying partnership opportunities.
Native-level Mandarin and strong English communication skills.
