We are looking for a Health Economic Expert who is analytical, collaborative, and motivated to shape payer‑relevant health economic value strategies and deliverables that support a UCB asset in late‑stage development to join our Data and Evidence Strategy team, based in Slough UK, or Brussels, Belgium.

About the Role

As the Health Economic Expert, you will develop health economic and payer evidence strategies / deliverables that demonstrate the full value of UCB’s in‑development assets. This role directly supports UCB’s ambition to deliver differentiated, patient‑focused solutions while enabling market access across global regions.

Who You’ll Work With

You will collaborate closely with market access, real-world evidence, clinical development, medical affairs, biostatistics, commercial teams, and the broader Global Payer and HTA community. You will also partner with external experts, researchers, and vendors to deliver high‑quality economic evidence that supports reimbursement, HTA submissions, and payer decision‑making.

What You’ll Do

Support the development of health economic strategic plans and deliverables supporting payer value narratives for UCB assets.

Design, develop, and implement global health economic research projects to demonstrate clinical, humanistic, and economic value.

Partner with cross‑functional teams to integrate health‑economics endpoints into clinical and observational studies.

Collaborate on defining analyses for economic parameters in clinical trials and coordinate work with statistical programmers.

Develop payer‑relevant evidence packages and core global economic models enabling market access across geographies.

Conduct and coordinate HTA‑relevant literature reviews, meta‑analyses, and indirect comparisons to inform evidence needs.

Critically appraise clinical and economic evidence to assess suitability for global value dossiers, HTA tools, and economic models.

Support affiliates in tailoring global economic models and deliverables for local reimbursement negotiations.

Communicate economic findings and value messages through internal briefings, global value dossiers, publications, and scientific forums.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for:

Over 3-5 years’ experience in a healthcare or pharmaceutical environment (industry or consulting) with HEOR experience.

Ability to design and implement health economic tactics (evidence reviews, economic models and indirect treatment comparisons) and translate evidence into payer‑relevant insights.

Understanding of global healthcare ecosystems and HTA processes across EU and international markets.

Strong analytical, communication, project‑management, and evidence‑synthesis skills.

Preferred: advanced degree (e.g., MSc, PhD, MD, PharmD), experience in immunology or systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
