Field Medical Team Lead
About this opportunity
We are seeking an experienced people leader to join the ANZ Medical Affairs organisation as one of two Field Medical Team Leads.
This role is responsible for leading, coaching and developing a team of Medical Affairs Scientists (MASs), ensuring consistent, high-quality and compliant execution of field medical activities across multiple therapy areas.
Working closely with Therapy Area Medical Leads and Medical Affairs leadership, the Field Medical Team Lead supports the delivery of medical strategy through effective external engagement, capability development, field coaching, medical analytics and business reporting.
The role also plays an important part in monitoring and communicating field medical impact through established metrics, dashboards and leadership reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach and develop a team of Medical Affairs Scientists, fostering a high-performing, collaborative and accountable culture.
Spend meaningful time in the field providing coaching, observation and feedback to strengthen the quality and impact of scientific engagement.
Drive ongoing capability development, with a particular focus on communication, stakeholder engagement, influence, coaching, strategic thinking and other core professional skills.
Partner with Therapy Area Medical Leads to support consistent implementation of field medical priorities across therapy areas.
Monitor field medical activity against established metrics and performance measures, using data and insights to identify opportunities for improvement and drive execution.
Track and communicate field medical performance, analytics and trends through established dashboards and reporting processes.
Support the development, maintenance and communication of Medical Affairs dashboards, analytics and leadership reporting.
Respond to Medical Affairs leadership team requests for analysis, reporting and business insights.
Ensure all field medical activities, external engagement and cross-functional interactions are conducted in accordance with Pfizer policies, governance requirements and compliance standards.
Support Medical Affairs projects and initiatives as required.
What You’ll Bring:
Demonstrated success leading and developing teams in a field-based healthcare, pharmaceutical or related environment.
Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, talent development and succession planning.
Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and driving performance through clear expectations, coaching and accountability.
Strong analytical capability, with experience using metrics, dashboards and business insights to guide decisions and improve execution.
Experience tracking and communicating performance against established KPIs and organisational objectives.
Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment and influence across multiple stakeholders.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
Experience engaging thought leaders in field.
Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day execution.
Advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
Location requirement: AUSTRALIA (Sydney, Melbourne or remote)
