POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager, Debrecen Operations, will play a critical role in leading one of Teva’s largest and most strategically important manufacturing sites within the global network. This leader will be responsible for setting the direction, driving performance, and ensuring the successful operation of a site with approximately 1,000 employees, an annual operating budget of ~$67M, and raw material spend of approximately ~$220M.

As a true Site General Manager, the role carries end-to-end accountability across Production, Quality, MS&T, Supply Chain, Engineering, EHS, HR, and Finance, ensuring both operational excellence and strong business performance. The incumbent will be responsible for executing Teva’s strategic priorities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, compliance, service, and cost competitiveness.

Success in this role requires an exceptional leader who can navigate a highly complex operating environment, drive transformational change, lead the adoption of new technologies, and build high-performing teams. Strong problem-solving capabilities, a continuous improvement mindset, and deep Operational Excellence/Lean expertise will be essential to deliver sustainable results and position the site for future growth and success.

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Lead the site transformation and workforce renewal, rebuilding organizational capabilities, reshaping culture, and developing leadership at all levels.

Drive operational excellence by ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, compliance, service, and cost performance while delivering challenging business objectives and KPIs.

Provide end-to-end site leadership across Production, Quality, MS&T, Supply Chain, Engineering, EHS, HR, and Finance.

Support and sustain remediation efforts, ensuring strong GMP, quality, and technical leadership while strengthening compliance and inspection readiness.

Balance short-term operational priorities with long-term strategic goals, developing and executing a roadmap that supports future growth, network strategy, and technology implementation.

Champion continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing principles, creating a culture focused on performance, accountability, problem-solving, and operational effectiveness.

Build a high-performance culture characterized by collaboration, engagement, talent development, succession planning, and strong employee experience.

Partner closely with R&D, Global Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure successful product launches, reliable supply, and responsiveness to market needs.

Lead and develop the Site Leadership Team, strengthening organizational capability and ensuring a robust pipeline of future leaders.

Contribute to Teva's global and regional strategic priorities, ensuring site objectives are fully aligned with broader business goals and network requirements.

Lead and embed the Teva Lean Manufacturing System (TLMS) across the site, driving a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and performance accountability. Ensure full adoption of TLMS principles, including Process-Centric Teams (PCTs), capability building, waste reduction, problem-solving, and sustainable productivity improvements that support safety, quality, service, and cost objectives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, BSc in Engineering or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.

An undergraduate degree is required; advanced degree is a plus.

15+ years of experience working in pharma industry with minimum of 5 years in leadership roles.

Experience working in a large, complex matrixed environment with global processes & governance structures;

Experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments, ideally with deep quality and compliance expertise.

Critical skills/capabilities:

Professional:

Financial & business acumen in target setting, efficiency management and P&L optimisation

Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Teva portfolio and practical experience in relevant technologies.

Experience developing OPEX M&B in leaders and teams; demonstrated successful OPEX transformational leadership

Adequate practical experience working in a regulated production facility (production and/or packaging) required.

Basic experience in a global function – gaining a perspective broader than the plant.

Advanced experience in regulatory inspections, investigations and discussions/interactions with regulatory bodies required.

Essential: Strong critical thinking / problem-solving skills to navigate ambiguous situations; Strategic thinking; Excellent storytelling and presentation skills; Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management; Effective communication; Strong relationship and senior stakeholder management capabilities

Leadership: Strong leadership, change management & influencing skill; Decision-making under uncertainty skills; Ability to drive transformational change in a large/global/matrixed environment;  Proven talent management & people development capabilities (incl. coaching and mentoring); Ability to create an engaging & inclusive work climate and a culture of appreciation and trust; Ability to set a vision and drive organizational change and innovation; Ability to manage effectively complexity within the organization (shifting timelines, projects, priorities).
