Undergrad Intern – Software Engineer – Amgen’s Technology & Medical Organizations (Summer 2027)

What You Will Do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this internship, you will acquire the valuable hands-on skills and foundational experience needed to become a professional in your chosen field.

This role employs software development, configuration and design techniques that ensure alignment to software development standards, performance efficiency, reliable and maintainable code, and self-documenting programs. Candidates should demonstrate a basic understanding of software development methodologies and techniques. Responsibilities may include:

Developing, testing, debugging, and detailing components of applications

Developing project plans

Transforming basic business processes into programming logic

Program Eligibility Requirements

Expected completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program

Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program

Must be available to work a full-time schedule.

Must be available to accept and commit to future full-time employment by July 2028, if offered

Basic Qualifications:

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Degree concentration(s) in Information Technology, Computer Science (e.g., CS, CPE, SE), Engineering, Business, or related field

Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or health care industry experience

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

Strong interpersonal, project management, analytical and quantitative skills

Proficient in one of the coding languages (Python, Java, Scala, SQL)

Detail oriented

Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and resourcefulness

Ability to operate independently, across functional lines, and with both internal and external customers

Coursework in one or more of the following areas:

Business Systems analysis, Lean, Agile (SCRUM) and other SDLC processes, Software Development, Database Modeling, Web Design and Development, IT Management, Management of Cloud based application, B2B Collaboration, Enterprise systems such as configuration and management of ERP, CRM systems

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $28.87 per hour.
