Job Description

Specific Job Requirements

This position reports to the Director of Medical Affairs (MA) Oncology in Japan.

The primary responsibility of Medical Affairs Senior Manager/Associate Director is to lead planning and execution for strategic data generation and various medical programs including, but not limited to, advisory boards, education programs, congress symposia, digital education, and other programs in collaboration with other Oncology medical team members. Other expectations include supporting head of Oncology MA in creating Japan ISP (Indication Strategic Plan) and medical PoA (Plan of Action), in closely communication and collaboration with Oncology Medical Scientists, Medical Affairs stuffs of partner companies, Global MA, and International MA especially Asia Pacific Region, providing scientific/medical inputs during all product life cycle.

Primary responsibilities are as follow:

Lead planning and execution of the Oncology TA PoA, including data generation, publication, medical education programs in collaboration with other Oncology medical team members and partners (if applicable) based on deeper Oncology knowledge with excellent logical planning skills.

Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in Oncology area to develop and conduct strategic medical activities.

Involved in scientific communication with KOLs to provide medical input and more extensive background, additional data, or answers to questions in response to issues that arise relative to commercial, scientific or data needs.

Collaborate effectively with clinical, regulatory affairs and commercial teams in multiple areas including publication planning, speaker education programs, regional advisory meetings, manuscript review. Especially excellence in launch preparation is indispensable.

Ensure that all interactions and activities in Japan adhere to corporate and healthcare compliance guidance, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information

Qualifications: Specific Education and Experience Requirements

Essential

Must have strong industry experience ( +5 yrs ) in Oncology area, Medical Affairs or R&D in Pharma Industry.

Logical thinking and planning skills are essential.

Excellent internal/external stakeholder management, communication in both Japanese and English, presentation, and time management skills required; must be adaptable and able to work well within a team and relate effectively with people at all levels of the organization

Ability to partner with key internal stakeholders to understand key objectives and to drive plans that achieve or exceed these.

Excellent learning agility

Desired/Preferred

Advanced degree in life science (PhD, Pharm D, MD) with clinical and research experience in Oncology

Demonstrated leadership in ambiguous situations

Advanced English Skills for both written and speaking

Project Management skills
