Job Description

As a Senior Associate Software Engineer at Amgen, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications to meet business needs. Your strong programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail will contribute to the development of robust and scalable software solutions.

The role requires hands-on experience on Salesforce platform and MuleSoft integration development, API-led connectivity, production support, and enterprise interface management. The candidate will be a key technical resource responsible for supporting, and enhancing integrations between Salesforce, MuleSoft, SAP, and other enterprise systems. The role will support Production and non-Production environments, ensure interface reliability, maintain code quality and compliance standards, and drive continuous improvements across the digital technology ecosystem.

Roles & Responsibilities

Configure and support Salesforce platform capabilities as needed, including objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, flows, security settings, and user access.

Support Salesforce integrations by validating inbound and outbound data, reviewing API behavior, and coordinating with Salesforce teams to ensure successful data processing.

Assist in Salesforce development and enhancement activities using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Aura, Visualforce, and related platform tools when required.

Use Copado or other DevOps tools to support Salesforce deployment automation, source control, release management, and environment coordination.

Support MuleSoft APIs and integrations using API-led connectivity patterns, including System APIs, Process APIs, and Experience APIs.

Support RESTful and SOAP-based integrations between MuleSoft, Salesforce, SAP, and other downstream/upstream enterprise applications, ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely data processing across systems.

Build and enhance MuleSoft integration logic using DataWeave transformations, connectors, error handling, logging, retry mechanisms, and reusable components.

Support Production and non-Production MuleSoft applications by monitoring interface health, troubleshooting failures, analyzing logs, and resolving data and integration issues.

Collaborate with SAP, Salesforce, and business teams to analyze interface failures, validate payloads, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes.

Implement MuleSoft best practices for API design, security, exception handling, performance optimization, logging, monitoring, and operational support.

Support CI/CD and deployment activities for MuleSoft applications using source control and deployment tools, ensuring proper versioning and release governance.

Perform unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and support end-to-end testing for MuleSoft interfaces across lower and Production environments.

Troubleshoot data transformation issues, mapping defects, payload discrepancies, connectivity failures, authentication issues, and performance bottlenecks across integration flows.

Ensure applications and integrations comply with GxP standards, including traceability, test evidence, documentation, change control, and version control.

Work with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery tools to track requirements, defects, user stories, technical tasks, deployments, and support activities.

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and iterative delivery activities.

Communicate technical designs, interface flows, system dependencies, and troubleshooting findings clearly to technical teams, business stakeholders, and support partners.

Identify opportunities to improve integration stability, reduce manual support effort, improve monitoring, and enhance operational reliability.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
