Make Your Mark in a World-Class Biologics Facility – AstraZeneca’s state-of-the-art biologics manufacturing plant in Södertälje is searching for a Senior New Product Introduction & Supply Chain Project Manager  to join our team. This is your chance to be part of a facility that’s at the heart of our commercial pipeline, transforming groundbreaking science into life-changing medicines.

As Sweden Biomanufacturing Center (SBC) continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced and collaborative leader to help drive our ambitions forward. We are now offering an opportunity to join our Biomanufacturing Center as a Senior New Product Introduction & Supply Chain Project Manager (NPI & SC PM).

Business Area

SBC has a growing portfolio of new product establishments, launches and switches, and supply chain change projects.

The SBC NPI & SC Project Management team is responsible for establishing new products at site and managing our commercial parenteral drug product and finished pack product portfolio to ensure medicines are supplied to patients around the world on time. We work closely with cross-functional partners locally and globally to deliver reliable execution and a high level of customer service.

What you’ll do

You will be accountable for projects within the NPI/SC portfolio, including sub-projects and workstreams such as Capex, manufacturability, Tech Transfer, new supply chain pathways, QA, and QC. You will ensure delivery in line with agreed time, cost, scope, and quality, while meeting regulatory and GMP requirements in accordance with global and local processes.

To succeed in this role, you will need a broad understanding of the operational implications linked to drug substance, product manufacturing, packaging configurations, anticipated volumes, third-party services, and customer constraints.

You will work across both local and global teams, building strong stakeholder relationships and contributing with a collaborative and structured approach. You will identify and raise opportunities for improvement, as well as potential gaps, risks, issues, and mitigation plans, to support effective project delivery. The role requires the ability to understand customer needs and constraints and to lead successfully in an environment characterized by uncertainty, changing assumptions, and evolving priorities.

Other tasks and responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end product projects: Drive site assessments and NPI and SC initiatives to ensure SBC can manufacture, store, and supply products, securing regulatory and commercial readiness for launches and switches

Deliver within agreed constraints and ensure continuity: Execute projects to defined cost, timeline, scope, and quality; ensure smooth handover to BAU with minimal disruption

Governance, risk, and stakeholder alignment: Monitor plans vs. targets, manage risks/issues/opportunities, communicate cross-project impacts, manage scope changes, and escalate decisions as needed across local and global stakeholders

Build high-performing teams and embed excellence: Allocate resources, lead cross-functional experts, translate complex technical topics, support inspection readiness (PAI), and embed LEAN and continuous improvement across NPI/SC

Essential for the role

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, pharmacy, chemistry, or a related science, or a business-related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry

Experience in at least one of the following areas is expected:  supply chain management, process technology/development, new product introduction, business development, logistics and distribution, regulatory/quality assurance, or engineering projects

A comprehensive understanding of Operations and how other functions contribute to both global and local business objectives, together with knowledge of LEAN principles and practices

Demonstrated experience in project/program management principles and techniques, with the ability to drive results, take balanced risks, and make decisions in complex environments

Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills, with a proven ability to build high-performing teams, establish effective stakeholder relationships, and collaborate across teams and all levels of the organization, including key leadership forums locally and globally

A structured and well-organized approach, with the ability to adapt to change, redirect when needed, and make sound judgments in situations where information may be incomplete

Strong communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

Desirable Requirements

Experience with product launches and product switches.

Understanding of end-to-end product lifecycle management.

Knowledge of logistics and planning.

Computed from every other active role in our database, not just this employer's listings.

We don't have enough classified peer data for this role yet, so there's no comparison to show. This happens when a posting's title/category doesn't match any taxonomy rule -- it's excluded rather than compared against the wrong peer group.
